They didn't have them at the merchandise stand on Thursday, but I nabbed one on Saturday. Clara Jane's just about worn out her ice cream cone shirt.

fatheadfred
We all apologize for trying to show Wilco that we love them. I was part of the troublesome entourage. After the show we discussed our situation w/ the band and they seem to understand what happened and were cool about it. I suppose we'll avoid the poopy venues...sticking closer to the 'uncouth' venues, e.g. KC, Tulsa, you know, where the hicks and cowboys roam. I seem to recall Jeff emphasizing how great those crowds were and hey, we were there, yelling, screaming, having a good whisky soaked time. And, more for me than you, this is my last post and look at this mutha board. There are some cool folk here, but damn, this is turning into a 'fans ruining the music', kind of like when frat boys started listening to the Dead. Most of all, I will miss Analogman. His dedication to keeping the peace here and discussion of torrents is primo. Happy trails.

It's nothing new - people have always bitched about people making noise, standing, sitting, talking, singing along, smoking, etc. Those same people have or will at some point do all of those same things. I was in there buying a poster but didn't know it was you or I would have said hi. My husband and I bought a print pretty early in the day on Thursday. We were shrieking about the design. And yep, there was one other person in there. Sounds like we were probably there at the same time. Wish I had known! I'd wondered where you were in the crowd.

I spent most of the first 2 nights right in front of the sbd but moved up to the first drink rail by the other tapers to take pictures several times. Luckily I was up there to get the shot of shirtless guy dancing. Third night I was right by the stands at the drink rail. I'll be sure to say hi next time I see you out. But just in case, I am from Tulsa and have been to 2 Wilco concerts at Cains Ballroom and one Jeff Tweedy solo tour. I have also been to several Wilco concerts in KC, Wichita, Springfield Mo. as well as 2 in St. Louis.I hate to tell you, anywhere there is alcohol served, there are going to be people who do stupid things. There is nothing more offensive to a sober person than a drunk. I personally go to a Wilco show to enjoy the music not kill brain cells or hear dog whistlers. Please don't come to Tulsa and bring your loving entourage with you. Us uncouth hicks enjoy concerts here for the music not the "firewater".

First of all, just because one drinks alcohol, that does not mean they are a drunk. There are many reasons to go to a concert, mainly to enjoy the music. Some do this by dancing, some by yelling or singing and apparently some go just to stand and stare. I was at the Lawrence show a week and a half ago and it was easily the worst crowd I have ever been a part of. No energy at all. During the encore even Tweedy said to the front row, "Don't worry there are only a couple of songs left." None of us on here own Wilco. Concerts are a public gathering, these are not private sessions. I suggest that if you want to enjoy Wilco without any distractions then you should just listen to them in your backyard on a CD player. This trend of sensitive concert goers is getting more troublesome with each show that I go to. All we do at the show is dance and sing along, but apparently that is too much enthusiasm for the multitude of people. So next time you see us at Wilco look for the person with tape over their mouth, arms folded wearing a straight jacket. Maybe then we won't offend your sensitive group. Wouldn't that make it exciting? I am sure Tweedy would enjoy his fans more if they were zombies.
poppydawn
Concerts are a public gathering, these are not private sessions. Yep, which is why I don't understand why concerts should be exempt from reasonably courteous behavior. When one is making such a loud, persistent noise that the band has to stop playing to ask the noise-maker to stop, that's not reasonably courteous behavior. I'm all for singing, dancing, cheering. Did plenty of it myself all three nights. What I didn't do was disrupt the show for everyone. I only know of one person who did that during the course of the three nights. I do give you credit for apologizing to the band.
