froggie
There was a time in this fair land when the railroad did not runWhen the wild majestic mountains stood alone against the sunLong before the white man and long before the wheelWhen the green dark forest was too silent to be real But time has no beginnings and hist'ry has no boundsAs to this verdant country they came from all aroundThey sailed upon her waterways and they walked the forests tallAnd they built the mines the mills and the factories for the good of us all  And when the young man's fancy was turnin' to the springThe railroad men grew restless for to hear the hammers ringTheir minds were overflowing with the visions of their dayAnd many a fortune lost and won and many a debt to pay  For they looked in the future and what did they seeThey saw an iron road runnin' from sea to the seaBringin' the goods to a young growin' landAll up through the seaports and into their hands  Look away said they across this mighty landFrom the eastern shore to the western strandBring in the workers and bring up the railsWe gotta lay down the tracks and tear up the trailsOpen 'er heart let the life blood flowGotta get on our way 'cause we're movin' too slow  Bring in the workers and bring up the railsWe're gonna lay down the tracks and tear up the trailsOpen 'er heart let the life blood flowGotta get on our way 'cause we're movin' too slowGet on our way 'cause we're movin' too slow  Behind the blue Rockies the sun is declinin'The stars, they come stealin' at the close of the dayAcross the wide prairie our loved ones lie sleepingBeyond the dark oceans in a place far away  We are the navvies who work upon the railwaySwingin' our hammers in the bright blazin' sunLivin' on stew and drinkin' bad whiskeyBendin' our old backs 'til the long days are done  We are the navvies who work upon the railwaySwingin' our hammers in the bright blazin' sunLayin' down track and buildin' the bridgesBendin' our old backs 'til the railroad is done  So over the mountains and over the plainsInto the muskeg and into the rainUp the St. Lawrence all the way to GaspeSwingin' our hammers and drawin' our payDrivin' 'em in and tyin' 'em downAway to the bunkhouse and into the townA dollar a day and a place for my headA drink to the livin' and a toast to the dead  Oh the song of the future has been sungAll the battles have been wonO'er the mountain tops we standAll the world at our commandWe have opened up the soilWith our teardrops and our toil  For there was a time in this fair land when the railroad did not runWhen the wild majestic mountains stood alone against the sunLong before the white man and long before the wheelWhen the green dark forest was too silent to be realWhen the green dark forest was too silent to be realAnd many are the dead men too silent to be real

G_willy
Â I used to use these as pick-up lines, sometimes they worked...mainly they didn't. I am very saddened that they don't have the little funny phrases on the back of the bottles anymore. Regardless, Molson Canadian rules!
bobfrombob
"Canada Day Up Canada Way"Stompin' Tom Connors It's Canada Day, up Canada Way on the first day of JulyAnd we're shoutin' "Hurray" up Canada Way when the Maple Leaf flies highWhen silver jets from East to West are streaming through our skyWe'll be shoutin' hurray! up Canada Way, when the great parade goes by. Oh Canada, standing tall together. We raise our hands and hail our flag,The Maple Leaf forever. It's Canada Day, up Canada Way on the coast of Labrador; And we're shouting Hurray! up Canada Way, on the wide Pacific shore.People everywhere have a song to share on Canada's holiday. From Pelee Island in the sunny south, to the North Pole far away. Oh Canada, standing tall together. We raise our hands and hail our flag,The Maple Leaf forever. It's Canada Day, up Canada Way when the long cold winter's doneAnd we're shoutin' Hurray! up Canada Way, for the great days yet to comeWhere maple trees grow maple leaves when the Northern sun is highWe're Canadians and we're born again on the first day of July Oh Canada, standing tall together. We raise our hands and hail our flag,The Maple Leaf forever. It's Canada Day up Canada Way, from the Lakes to the Prairies wideAnd we're shoutin' hurray! up Canada Way, on the St. Lawrence River sidePeople everywhere have a song to share on Canada's holidayFrom Pelee Island in the sunny south to the North Pole far away. Oh Canada, standing tall together. We raise our hands and hail our flag,The Maple Leaf forever.
