bobbob1313
Being from Florida, I have to ask. What is this autumn you all are always going on about?
markosis
What is this autumn you all are always going on about? You see, autumn has a smell. That's what I think about when I think about autumn. I couldn't possibly describe the aroma of dead oak leaves and cold wind, but that's autumn.

kidsmoke
Damn, I need to hear some Nick Drake now, but it's all on vinyl and the turntable is buried under a mountain of cd's....River Man, anybody? (Is that the title?)
pillowy star
No Nick Drake for me, I'm afraid. Tried it once due to the recommendation of a friend, and was bored out of my brains. Good autumn music? Bright Eyes' records might be an idea.
bobbob1313
Gold by Ryan Adams seems like a good one.

pillowy star
3 am?! I'm normally doing other stuff at that time of the day But I'll give it another try, I just remember his voice being so bland, like Josh Ritter's
kidsmoke
3 am?! I'm normally doing other stuff at that time of the day But I'll give it another try, I just remember his voice being so bland, like Josh Ritter's You need to listen on a long solo drive, or on a quiet night when you are really missing someone.....or just on a quiet, reflective night. Few people have the power to move my heart like he does. But not for when you want something energetic, not for those times. You know how certain music is the only thing you crave, in certain moods? He's like that. I would hate a musical world that didn't contain Nick Drake.

Looks like you listened to Pink Moon or Bryter Layter. You have to start with Five Leaves Left. I can't imagine anyone being bored by that.

Moe_Syzlak
I think I may have mentioned this once before on this site, but my fiance and I were thinking of using Drake's "Pink Moon" for our wedding as the first dance with our folks. It seemed like a good choice because it is short and has no specific sexual references. But ....that was when we thought the "pink moon" was allegory for love. The a friend told us it is meant to represent the apocalypse. Ha! I guess I can see it in the lyrics now knowing that and knowing Drake's history of depression. Can anyone confirm or refute that? Might not be the best song to kick off a marriage if that's the case!
