Lammycat
i hope beckett is as recovered as they must think he is. oblique strains can go . . . on and on and on.I don't think they'd put him in the rotation if they had a lot of concern about it. His start in the last series came after almost 2 weeks without a start, so some rust was inevitable. I'm thinking he'll be his play-off self Saturday night.

jenbobblehead
No comment. It was a little much last night. The idea that the dodgers couldn't possibly have gotten to the playoffs without manny, in light of what a shit he was the last two months with the red sox, was just hard to hear. I was rooting for the dodgers (Joe Torre, really) to beat the phillies but honestly i was so turned off by FOX last night that I started hoping the Phillies would just prove everyone wrong about Manny. Is it sour grapes? Yeah, probably. I would have loved to have a 400+ hitting Manny in my house for the playoffs, but he wanted out, even faked knee injuries to ensure he'd get out, and it is what it is. I just don't want the hard work of the dodgers and potentially the Red Sox be diminished by the Manny Story.
