kwall
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122515067227674187.html These numbers ought to raise serious concern because of Mr. Obama's extreme left-wing views about the role of judges. He believes -- and he is quite open about this -- that judges ought to decide cases in light of the empathy they ought to feel for the little guy in any lawsuit. Speaking in July 2007 at a conference of Planned Parenthood, he said: "[W]e need somebody who's got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it's like to be a young teenage mom. The empathy to understand what it's like to be poor, or African-American, or gay, or disabled, or old. And that's the criteria by which I'm going to be selecting my judges." On this view, plaintiffs should usually win against defendants in civil cases; criminals in cases against the police; consumers, employees and stockholders in suits brought against corporations; and citizens in suits brought against the government. Empathy, not justice, ought to be the mission of the federal courts, and the redistribution of wealth should be their mantra.
Spawn's dad
Look jc4pres and all the rest of you guys....go for it. I wish the world were that pure, but it isn't. In every day life we all compromise ourselves, our principals and our relationships. We can't live otherwise. You are being disengenuous if you believe otherwise. Baiting those of us who have come to terms with reality (Obama is a pretty good candidate and he is going to represent us as best as he can and he is going to do something Nader can never do, which is win the White House.) and now it is time to move on. LouieB You're the master baiter.

Unfortunately, I think most people on this board actually share that view.
jenbobblehead
Maybe when you grow up you'll realize there's only one way to do this voting thing.Steve // Oct 11, 2008 (3 weeks ago) at 4:29 pm The worst thing is that the team has been around for 11 seasons and have only 11 original season ticket holders. 11? WTF ? That must be one hell of a marketing department they have done there. Only 11 people have supported the team for more than a decade. Now that
sweetheart-mine
Are you serious? why wouldn't i be? mccain is running for president. ayers isn't. what mccain has done with his life is relevant to the election. what ayers has done with his life isn't.
Duck-Billed Catechist
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122515067227674187.htmlMy understanding of the full WBEZ interview, by the way, was that he was affirming the judicial stance that the constitution only guarantees negative liberties. lost highway
I think the biggest relief to all of those middle of the road and conservative folks out there watching the Obama campaign poised to score a win is this: Obama has a superior and more nuanced understanding of the constitution and constitutional law than any other person that has been involved in the election, if not the primaries. bobbob1313
Umm... "I'm plenty happy. Just not in the election thread. This is super serious business". I hope that you do not actually believe that this thread is super serious business. If so, then all is lost for you. That was a joke too.

If McCain had a working (or otherwise) relationship with a domestic terrorist, you better believe we would be hearing about it.

If McCain had a working (or otherwise) relationship with a domestic terrorist, you better believe we would be hearing about it. How about a friendly meting with a gross human rights violator with ties to a domestic terrorist act? I don't think either case is damning evidence of the candidates' ties to terrorism, but the pendulum surely swings both ways.

If McCain had a working (or otherwise) relationship with a domestic terrorist, you better believe we would be hearing about it. i think you know that obama was 8 years old when ayers was doing his thing, and that his association with him 30-35 years later has been minimal at best and has had nothing to do with terrorism domestic or otherwise. i'd be more concerned about mccain and his liddy and keating associations, and even more concerned about the palins' more recent pallin' around with the america-hating alaskan secessionists. does obama go about harping on or even mentioning those associations? Mrs. Peel
I wish more attention would be paid to the idea of Palin redistributing the wealth in her state. Sounds like her definition of socialism to me.

Mrs. Peel
Even Joe the Plumber is coming back to bite McCain in the ass.http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_...ns-top-sur.html That guy is such a pile of crap. He makes an insane statement and then when he's asked to back it up, by FOX NEWS, no less, he has no clue what he's talking about and tries to cover it up by telling the viewers they need to go out and find their own answers and not listen to his opinion. Then why the hell are you speaking at campaign engagements?!? Ugh, this whole election has made me physically ill. I can't wait for this to end.
