lizish
it's fantastic too! umm. Is that an official thing? If not then...... Sloan were playing down the street from AC Newman last month. Newman said that it was always a sign of true love if your girlfriend resisted Chris Murphy's advances. 'Honey, you didn't hook up with the Sloan guy? Oh I love you so much' Sounds like there is some history there.

lizish
Oops - sorry I thought i was this new version of the Basement tapes: ie MIXING UP THE MEDICINEA new CD release from the Hollow Horn Encore Label that features the firstever release of the legendary Basement Tapes Safety Master. This was a tapereportedly made by Garth Hudson in early 1968, under full studio conditions,of the best available original master tapes made in the summer of 1967 andit features the bulk of the original songs that were recorded. This safetytape features truly breathtaking sound quality and also in the majority ofcases, features the material in it s original glorious stereo (virtuallynone of this material has ever been heard in it s original true stereoincluding on the ridiculous official release!) The first time I got tolisten this material my jaw nearly hit the floor! It really is a whole newlistening experience!!Four bonus tracks from other sources have also been included as bonustracks, which also means that this set also stands as a close to perfect onedisc compilation of the Basement Tapes Dylan compositions. The packaging isthe usual high quality fold out mini album design complete with an eightpage booklet of notes, pictures and some lovely reproductions of thecartoons from the classic vinyl album Little White Wonder. An earlycontender for the best, and most important release of 2009!!The track listing of this set is as follows:The Basement Tapes Safety Master Tape1. Million Dollar Bash2. Yea Heavy and a Bottle of Bread3. I m Not There (1956)4. Please Mrs Henry5. Down in the Flood6. Lo and Behold7. This Wheel s On Fire8. You Ain t Going Nowhere9. I Shall Be Released10. Too Much Of Nothing11. Nothing Was Delivered12. Odds and Ends13. Get Your Rocks Off14. Clothesline Saga15. Apple Suckling Tree16. Open the Door Homer17. Nothing Was Delivered18. Tears Of Rage19. Quinn The EskimoBONUS TRACKS20. Tiny Montgomery21. Sign On The Cross22. Going To Acapulco23. All You Have To Do Is Dream

augurus
i think it's better than Some Cities, but not by a wide margin or anything. def doesn't touch the first two for me. first 6 songs are incredible then it tapers off a bit. still a very strong record, even if not totally worth the extended wait.Very strong record indeed. It doesn't taper off for me.It's also streaming on their myspace page.
lizish
brilliant, thanks that definately warrants a kiss from me. hollee shit. solace
Very strong record indeed. It doesn't taper off for me.It's also streaming on their myspace page. i think it's moreso that the first 6 songs (esp tracks 4-6) are my favorites on the record... not saying the second half sucks or anything. augurus
Okay, I think I figured it out. Some of the lyrics are pretty generically awful, but the music is a pretty fun ride.
