Guest Speed Racer
A google map search revealed a plain looking building, but it could be. Were you under the impression it was crusted in diamonds?
SarahC
i also did a google map search, and it was a camel farm!
solace
Were you under the impression it was crusted in diamonds? that's not the Loft, that's R. Kelly's studio... where he was "Trapped In The Closet"
Shakespeare In The Alley
Were you under the impression it was crusted in diamonds? Ha.Nah, It's just hard to look at this typical city building and imagine the guys in the band inside, with a fortune in instruments and such. But I think it's a great example of why this is such an amazing band for its fans.
jff
What's the deal with the weird "Specimen" telecaster/danelectro hybrid? The only cds I could make out where The Band "Across the Great Divide" and Grateful Dead "Workingman's Dead".
solace
i do like that they use LaCie external drives just like i do just got a 1.5TB d2 Quadra yesterday (there's some 500gb versions of that on the shelf)

Scott Gyrrr
What are those ugly guitars on the wall there? Look like some custom jobs. Like the Flame job on the monitors.

Shakespeare In The Alley
I noticed a copy of Mermaid Avenue Volume 2. Those conceited bastards... I laughed at the bunk beds in the back.
Sir Stewart
What's the deal with the weird "Specimen" telecaster/danelectro hybrid? The only cds I could make out where The Band "Across the Great Divide" and Grateful Dead "Workingman's Dead". I see five copies of YHF. Odd. EDIT: make that seven. Analogman
I wonder if any of the things people have given them over the years can be seen on a shelf or something along those lines.
Shakespeare In The Alley
Remember, Nels and somebody else bunked there during the SBS sessions.Ah, yes. It's still funny to me: all this priceless equipment and state of the art recording technology, and then there's some bunk beds, straight out of an elementary school kid's bedroom. jff
What are those ugly guitars on the wall there? Look like some custom jobs. Like the Flame job on the monitors. Two are Silvertones (Danelectros rebranded as Silvertone and sold in Sears & Roebuck stores), one is a Jerry Jones, which is a higher quality copy of a Danelectro. I'm still trying to figure out what the deal is with that telecaster. http://www.danguitars.com/Silvertone.html
Sir Stewart
Where are you seeing these? The CD rack to the lower left of the wall guitars and to the right of the fire-detailed speaker.

Sir Stewart
This could be used when the next "why is the government spending so much money on NASA" argument flares up in TTL.
