bleedorange
I wish I had an extra $200 to spend on the set. Middle Cyclone will always be my favorite (one of my all-time favorites, too), but those early records are also great.

tinnitus photography
neato... just found that her Newport set from 2009 is still available via NPR streaming:http://www.npr.org/2009/08/02/111396860/neko-case-newport-folk-festival-2009

It might rank 3rd for me. It also has my favorite song of hers ("South Tacoma Way").
Analogman
I have some live shows from years ago. I don't know if she is still against taping or not. She was very against such things back in the day.
twoshedsjackson
I just scored tickets to see her at Infinity Hall in Hartford. Very happy.

She was very against such things back in the day. yeah she's increasingly against photography as well, even credentialed. i've shot her a bunch of times and had to get image preapproval last time... Analogman
There is a message within the Canadian Amp cd liner notes about her dislike of ripping cds, mp3 sharing, etc. I think she was real anti-computers back then also.
anthony
Man I really want that vinyl box set from Santa this year...
LouieB
I am pretty sure Neko is still against taping and video too; why would she change. She has also taken back all her early work from Bloodshot and releases it under her own label these days. Isn't it time for her to get out a new album? Is Kelly still singing back-up for her? Just curious LouieB

Middle Cyclone came out 4 years before that.3 - yes.
LouieB
1. I know she is on anti now. She pulled her early records from Bloodshot and is now marketing them through anti, which is her right.2. Considering how slowly she has been working of late I guess I am not surprised.3. Good to know, they area great combo. LouieB
Analogman
I think in that interview she says something about having "one song on her phone" or something like that.

knotgreen
I'm probably in the minority, but I'd rank her last release as her best. Hoping she swings through Boston in 2016.
lost highway
Yeah the last one's great! Pretty tough tie between the last 3 records for me and they tower over her earlier work.
Oil Can Boyd
I'm bumming. Neko's show here in Boston just got moved from the Orpheum (where I had 10th row seats) to the general admission House of Blues ...
tinnitus photography
yeah i was figuring that would burn people who had good seats. she's definitely more of a theater-type show. maybe ticket sales were not that good? are the 2nd and 3rd floors open for Neko? Neko's show here in Boston just got moved from the Orpheum (where I had 10th row seats) to the general admission House of Blues ... i had front row center. promptly got refunded upon seeing the orpheum's tweet about the venue change. i hate the hob -- it'll take wilco to drag me there. calvino
Interesting venue choice -- nice bill, too (with Robbie Fulks) -- bet it would have been a great gig.

LouieB
this should be cool. LouieB
lost highway
First single is pretty cool. Way more Case vocals than Veirs or lang, but it's also really sparse.
