m_thomp
can't stop listening to this at the moment ...the first of the bowie albums that's been given the deluxe edition treatment that i really love, and therefore bought.anyone know if they're doing the same thing with low/heroes/lodger next? This is what's been done so far: David Bowie - Deluxe Edition (2CD)Space Oddity - 2009 Special Edition (2CD)Ziggy Stardust - 2002 30th Anniversary 2CD EditionAladdin Sane - 2003 30th Anniversary 2CD EditionDiamond Dogs - 2004 30th Anniversary 2CD EditionDavid Live - 2005 30th Anniversary 2CD EditionYoung Americans - 2007 Collector's Edition with accompanying DVDStation to Station - 2010 Special and Deluxe EditionsStage - 2005 release (2CD) - actual running order and fades between songs removedZiggy Stardust : The Motion Picture - 2003 30th Anniversary 2CD EditionBlack Tie White Noise - 2003 10th Anniversary 2CD +DVD EditionOutside - 2004 Limited 2CD editionHours... - 2005 2CD reissue So I'd say there's a Low/Heroes/Lodger gap in there. Either that or the more anticipated and more critically acclaimed Tonight / Labyrinth OST / Never Let Me Down triumvirate quite rightly gets a look in first. Been listening to this far more frequently than is healthy:

jff
Is that a John Zorn thing? Yeah, Masada. It's his jazz/klezmer quartet w/ Dave Douglas (trumpet), Joey Baron (drums) & Greg Cohen (bass). I'm not a huge Zorn fan, but this is an extraordinary group.
lizish
Djing Friday and only have 20 or so minutes to prove my worth. Putting final touches on mix: 1) Detroit Cobras - Ya ya ya2) David Byrne - Big Blue Plymouth3) Hollarado - Fake Drugs4) Tones on Tail - GO5) Shriekback - my spine is the baseline6) New Order - Temptation 7) Beatles - Tomorrow Never Knows8) Heavy Balloon - Lead Zeppelin 9) Mickey hawks and the Nigth Raiders - Bip Bam Bop. and yes, the theme is roughly the 80s
calvino
Yeah, Masada. It's his jazz/klezmer quartet w/ Dave Douglas (trumpet), Joey Baron (drums) & Greg Cohen (bass). I'm not a huge Zorn fan, but this is an extraordinary group. The Tonic CD is a great one. Wish Zorn/Masada would come to Chicago more often. Only caught Masada once. They played a concert at the Mandel Hall at the Univ. of Chicago a few years back. The first part of the concert was a sound check (they all got into town late), than played the concert, than afterward the whole band did a Q & A. Nice night of music. PopTodd
I used to have Aleph and Bet from Masada, but was not aware that they had done anything else together since the early 90's. I loved those records and should probably go dig them up again sometime. Thanks for the reminder.

I'm not really that interested in any of those earlier albums, but if they've done all those then surely Low must be next in line. Anyway, what's wrong with Labyrinth? I love that film - "you remind me of the babe. what babe? the babe with the power. what power?" etc etc etc... NP.
