I watched a lot of it all weekend: Ween sets, Phish shows, UM, MMJ, TTB, P&F, CRB, etc.

Besides Ween and Phish being on fire, I had never seen/listened to Tedeschi/Trucks and WHOA was I impressed. Also, very impressed with MMJ (who I barely know), and Gary Clark, Jr.

TTB is an awesome band, glad you had your introduction. Don't miss them next time they're in your neighborhood.

We were away with friends this weekend so my time was spotty, but caught a bunch of both Phish shows and a little of Phil. I completely missed MMJ but by all accounts they were the set of the festival.

I was in the Worcester Centrum with my family for the Runaway Jam show. Longest single song performance in Phish history. At least it was.

Just short of an hour on one tune.....

endless noodle.

Nope, it actually ended.  There were lyrics involved, too. The song is called "Runaway Jim". There were many components of Jazz involved, too, which is a style of music that involves a lot of free-form (or "noodling"), as well.

Oh, I bet Mr. Blount would. A buddy gave Jon Fishman a ride from NY (after a Wetlands show) back to NH area in late 80s and reported that he talked about Sun Ra most of the ride. I bet Sun Ra would dig the band from Vermont, he being a part of and hip to eclectic an innovative music....

Plus, Trey did that whole Surrender to the Air record

Surrender to the Air was a free jazz ensemble led by Trey Anastasio of Phish that included Marshall Allen, Damon Choice, and Michael Ray of the Sun Ra Orchestra, John Medeski, Marc Ribot, Oteil Burbridge, Jon Fishman, and several other musicians

Did you (or anyone) ever see a show at the Wetlands. Watch a documentary on the place earlier this year and it looked like it would have been a cool place to see a show.

Yeah, I saw  a few shows there: Phish , Blues Traveler, Moe, Merl Saunders band, a few others. Pretty sure Shapiro was running it back then.

I saw a couple of shows at Wetlands. The best was Nick Lowe, when he still rocked out. What a great show that was! I don't remember much about the place, other than there was a psychedelic vibe, and I think I remember the room being wide but not deep, so that even in the back, you weren't too far away from the stage. Was there a psychedelic-painted van parked inside? But I could very well be misremembering...it was such a very long time ago.

Yep wetlands had a van parked inside. They sometimes sold merch out of it. The lower level were also covered in neon and lot of blacklights.

Right. There was like a make-out/weed room downstairs, too, across the hall from the bathrooms. And it was always pretty packed and hot anywhere in there.

Great Television show! They played most of Marquee - the major exception being See No Evil. Also, they have been playing a track from the 1992 album called 1880 Or So that I highly rec absorbing pre-show. There was also a 14 minute jazz freak out that I had never heard before -- maybe it was Persia? Overall band was tight and Verlaine is still the prickly, idiosyncratic God that made Television great.

And Bob Boulen from NPR was in the house - he is a fan!
