So I went to a pop punk show on Friday and fell down trying to get out of the crowd- they were pushing so hard, and I have to say it was the scariest thing that's ever happened to me at a show. I got kicked and stepped on for about 30 seconds. The bands were still good though.

Yeesh!  I was once at a Radiohead concert and there were only 2 exits that I could see and the crowd started to move en masse.  That was scary.  Also, once I was jumped upon by a tweeked out dickhead at a Fitz and the Tantrums concert, of all places.  Both in San Francisco now that I think of it.  But that sounds way worse!!

Oh, also a one legged crowd surfer fell directly on me and my friend, my husband got his pants ripped, and my friend almost lost her toe nail. It was a rough night. Atlanta is a rough shit hole sometimes.

But definitely falling down into that shit was terrifying.

Needless to say I am ecstatic to see Jeff Tweedy at the Ryman on Tuesday. That crowd is going to be so tame! :lol

I have yet to see him live. Somehow there's always something unavoidable going on whenever he's out this way! But I'm determined to see him next time he comes around, even if I have to miss somebody's funeral!! Even if it's my own! I keep reading rave reviews like yours, and I already love his music. :guitar

I was going to see Beck at MassMoCA, but there's too much going on and it's kind of far to drive up and back.  And the guy we were supposed to go with is kind of a dick, and I don't want to spend that much time in the car with him.

i am not sure where you live, but Beck is also playing Providence later this summer.

It was a really fun show. First show of their tour and I think it took Adam a little time to show personality (mid set). He's a great singer.

Queen's catalog is so awesome. It was just fun to watch the songs be performed by the band with a big production. Brian was worth the price alone. I'd never seen him play.

They did all the hits and some deep cuts too.

Thanks for the review. A friend of mine who is a die-hard fan invited me and I really only know the hits so I am happy to see the positive review. I will be seeing them in July!

I will be at the Newport Folk Fest.  Close, but no cigar.

That is hilarious! Dump him and go on your own.  :guitar

By "kind of a dick," I really meant "a huge dick who also is a loud concert talker."  He is in love with my husband so we would've never been able to shake him.

Neko Case in Richmond tonight.

Nice!  I was supposed to see her in Athens GA on Tuesday, but we had to cancel due to an emergency (which has since turned out for the best)   I'll try to catch her next time.
