Wendy
It was mentioned by RainDogToo earlier this morning here after he had listened to Jeff on a radio show in North Adams promoting the Solid Sound Festival.
lamradio
I like it.. Even though album titles don't matter that much to me. I once drove myself to the brink of insanity trying to come up with my bands first album title. Ever since then I have realized how insignificant they really are. Theremin
From that Spin article a couple of months ago: ""Whole Love" is an easy-going country-rocker that finds Tweedy testing out his falsetto skills."Â Title + fact that it's gonna be named after that particular song suggests dad-rockness. Theremin
Because you aren't going to name your album after a song that's not indicative of the sound of that album as a whole right? Also, 'the whole love'... I dunno, sounds too much like a collection of mature love songs a la You & I. Could be ironic though. Still, I think we should all start bringing on the hate just to be safe. knotgreen
i think we heard the title track tonight at solid sound. good, but i don't think it's the strongest of the new ones.
RainDogToo
Looks like there were two new songs played tonight. How did the other new one sound?
knotgreen
the track that jeff was playing solo, 'born to die alone', sounds soooooooo good with the full band. i never thought that that quiet acoustic number could become something so.... so wilco. it's great. and i think there were 3 new ones.... i might, whole love, and born to die alone. Real Rival
Actually there's all this solid sound stuff up on Youtube. If you go and search for Wilco and then click on the filter and explore button and sort by upload date. Pretty cool!
Ghost of Electricity
There's something on Youtube under the title "Dawned on me" which I don't recognize, so I'm assuming it's a new one.
lamradio
Yeah...and you took the easy way out   Indeed... It must be a rule of thumb in the music industry.. If no one can decide on a good album title, just self title it!
Kalle
Here's what I think our count on songs played live (that we have recordings of) from The Whole Love, let me know if I'm missing anything! 1. Open Your Mind - played solo a few times2. Born Alone - solo and full band 3. I Might - we have the recording4. The Whole Love - played at SS 5. Dawned On Me - played at SS 6. Unknown new one - played at SS And we know of the songs:7. The Art Of Almost - we think portions of the recording were on Vimeo8. Song For Jane Smiley's Boyfriend - according to the Spin article
u2roolz
Black Moon - the spectral ballad = according to that Spin article or was it Rolling Stone? Who knows!? They all plagiarize from each other all the time. LOL
