Good News!!! Here's hoping they announce a few other shows in my general area around this date...

Edit: It looks like they haven't played in Las Vegas since 2009. I'd definitely be down for a drive to see Wilco there.

It's official - two nights @ Wolf Trap! And, yes, they did sell out the Filene Center in 2009.

Tuesday & Wednesday, July 17 & 18 at 8 pm at the Filene Center

Ticket Price: $45 in-house, $35 lawn

Wilco

Special Guest:

Lee Ranaldo Band (of Sonic Youth)

I'm seeing 5 shows this tour already...but this is tempting me....5 & 1/2 hours away, friends to stay with in Baltimore (who I'd love to see & go to the shows with)...must...stop...somehow....Hi, my name is John & I have a Wilco problem ;)....Don't think I can do this one...really...but soooo tempting....

Looks like Duluth pre-sale allotment actually sold out. I'm planning on going to this one but couldn't make pre-sale this time around. I imagine it will be GA for the show though. I've never attended an event at the Bayfront Festival Park. Anyone know if this is the case?

It was all GA last time they played there - it was the one rescheduled due to Nels' chickenpox and, although it was 80 degrees when we left Minneapolis, it was around 40, foggy and misting in Duluth. That said, it's a really cool place for an outdoor show with Lake Superior waves practically washing up to the back of the stage and the lift bridge in the background. Not only did they sound great that night, but the ambiance was surreal with the stage lights cutting through the fog and mist!

We scored the pre-sale roped off section for Duluth and 2nd row in front of John in Rochester, MN!

two nights at wolf trap is pretty amazing, but i kinda wish it was a different opener each night, like the red rocks shows. but thats a petty complaint, because wolf trap is one of my favorite venues and i am a bit of a sonic youth fan. should be a good time.

Have they announced opening act/s for Wolf Trap? I don't see support info over on Wilcoworld.

Yeah, seems like it would usually be a good idea to mix it up with opening acts for back-to-back shows for a band like Wilco. But maybe given the size of the DC metro area, they figure there won't be a high percentage of hardcore "both night" fans.

I ended up with Garden (Level) Presale 3 (section) row 630. Not sure which section is "Presale 3" but row 630 will be about halfway up whichever section it is. This will be the closest I've sat at The Hollywood Bowl for a show. Previously, I had "Super Seats" for Sonic Youth/Pavement and was in the next section back for both Radiohead and Paul McCartney.

The presale was pretty confusing with all the different sections and not being able to just select "Best Available" or something. I just kept trying for 2 tickets in every section down the list until one of them hit. Really glad I got in. Even though the tickets were pretty pricey, there's no way I was going to miss out.

I agree with all of this. Also got tix, Garden row 522, which I guess is a Garden box? Would've preferred a Best Available option, but just glad I got something after my last presale (San Diego), which included waiting about half an hour to find out I was denied tickets.

If you enter your seat info in this link, it will show you your seats and your view of the stage, pretty cool!:

Thanks for the link! After checking out the view from my seat, I must say I'm pretty excited about my ticket purchase! I also found a more detailed seating map for the Bowl and saw exactly where the tickets are located.

I'm feeling pretty spoiled with all the Wilco in Southern California this year. I saw four shows back in January (3 in LA and 1 in San Diego - I too was shut out from that presale, but luckily my girlfriend managed to get through) and I'm ready to do a few more this time around, if the opportunity presents itself... (fingers crossed... c'mon more SoCal-ish/Vegas area shows)

I hope you folks in SoCal get a few more again, too. Our fingers are crossed for a San Fran area show in which case a roadtrip will be in order. Some Giants baseball for the husband and a Wilco show for me!

OK, now this is just getting silly,. I see how addiction can creep up on you, and I wonder if this slow trickling out of dates is designed to turn us into addicts?

This year alone, I've been to the Tweedy solo shows in Chicago (my first time, a must-see), and I've got lined up Tampa and St. Augustine (since they were early announcements and followed up on my enthusiasm from the Tweedy solo shows), then they announced Red Rocks, and how could I not? Never been there, dream concerts in a legendary venue, so. . . sold! Then the Mass MoCA benefit (just HAD to do that) and you can't go all that way for one show, right? So let's add Hartford the next night. OK, this is veering into dangerous obsession territory.

So now there's back-to-back Wolf Trap shows and Charlottesville, where I lived for 20 years. I mean, come on! I live in Norfolk--these are the only dates within easy driving distance and where I have friends and a free place to stay. I've got to do those, right??? But that will be 11 shows under my belt before the end of the summer. Honestly, where does rational thinking kick in?

Anyone else had this dilemma? I really don't think I would have committed to doing all of these shows if I'd made the decisions all at one time, but this sloooowly rolling out summer schedule has made me an unintentional total fanatic.

Do I need professional help?

Charlottesville is la place la be! What a great great venue and they blow it up there. Both shows ive seen were epique.

Its like worth a road trip if you havent been there or want to do a run.

2 nights in DC then drive about an hour and youre in the mountains and seeing Wilco the next night in July.

If you do, see if you can get me in the group rate.

My tale for this year...

~ Part1) Don't know how close they're coming...so we get tickets for Camden July 21st.

~Parts 2 & 3) Then we've got close by Rochester Aug. 3rd (30 min.) & Cooperstown July 28th (3 hours)

~Parts 4 & 5) My old Bass player & his wife are Mass-MoCA members & we're meeting in Cooperstown & with 1,000 seater, & their insistence that I have to see them there- because it's just the best, I'm in for North Adams (July 31st), but since I'm going I figure, friends in New Haven I haven't seen in ages, it's Hartford (August 1st)too...

~Parts 6 & 7) Two shows in Brooklyn?!!? I lived in NYC for 6 years, stay with friends, in Brooklyn when I there, who are huge fans...back to back nights means I'm in.

I said pretty much anything within 6 hours or so & I was in...and so it goes. 7 shows. Yay...and yikes...

But, to be honest, I wish I'd have known in advance, it really would have been helpful.

Love the triple bill in Camden & I'm already at a Festival in Ithaca, N.Y. that day, so it's only 3-4 hours to the show & back to the fest on Sunday...so that would have been a maybe.

And if I'd known I probably would have chose between the Mass-MoCA & Hartford, or the two Brooklyn shows...though I might have done both. I don't know really. Maybe I'd still be going to 7 shows...more Yay than yikes...but little yikes...and I'm kind of holding out for Tweedy solo in Toronto (know he's played there) or NYC (think he's played there) in the future...but if worse comes to worse, maybe Chicago...and...I'm dying to do one of those five nights in Chicago at different venue runs. That is the ultimate Wilco splurge...and hopefully in my future.

I'm starting to get the feeling there are only about 10,000 Wilco fans but they go to all the concerts so everyone thinks they have a massive following. I'm also thinking about doing six shows in less than two weeks with those Brooklyn shows being added. I probably would not have purchased tickets for the NJ gig if I knew they would be playing closer to CT by playing two shows in NYC. I also just picked up tickets to see Dawes at Infinity Hall in Norfolk, Ct on May 30. The venue holds only 300 people and they are filming that night for a CPTV series called Live at Infinity Hall that plays here on Friday nights on the local PBS channel. June 16 has them hosting Mathew Sweet who will be playing the whole Girlfriend album that night. Tickets are still available but I've got a college buddy reunion/picnic that day and I will be in no condition to drive to the backwoods of Northwestern, CT after that experience. Here's the link if anyone is interested..
