Kinda neat that the TNT/TBS broadcasts are using Land of Hope and Dreams in the promos...

I note to you that as of game six, I have as many hits in the ALCS as does A-Rod .

i'm ready to make my play in game 4 Crow. Please tell me who wins and by how many... shoot, just send me over the box score if you have it for both game 4 and 5!

i still want to see the giants somehow pull this out, but cards/tigers would be a hell of a series, and a great test of detroit's dominant pitching.

Lincecum looks beaten up and as though he doesn't have the same velocity as a few years ago. Most likely, because of all those innings he worked to get them to the post season and a WS Championship. Was it worth it? Yes.

perhaps

he also lost a bunch of weight last offseason and has an inherently weird delivery that can easily fall apart. i like the guy a lot so i'd like to see him return to form as a starter, but he might be quickly heading towards a second career as a bullpen guy.

Yeah, he is a pretty short and skinny/scrawny guy for a pitcher.

He lost that weight after gaining a bunch the previous year. That cycle can't be healthy for an athlete.

I'm still counting on the Giants bouncing back and winning the next three. They've done it before!! :twitchsmile

probably why i, as a short and scrawny guy, pull for him. he looked great as a reliever so far this postseason, but last night wasnt a great outing for him. it'll be interesting to see what happens after this season. i hope the giants dont give up on him completely, but pitching's such a weird thing that its not too ridiculous to think he'll never be dominant again.

Dontrelle Willis.

I saw Linecum pitch in Philly in July. Except for balking by falling down and forgetting how many outs there were, he pitched fine.

Pitching in July and pitching now are big differences, though. My point was that he looks a little gassed and my speculation is the wear that's been placed on his arm over the last few years. SF exploited him, as they should have. I think they've even given him a bunch of short-term contracts, waited until arbitration. Smart move there, too, just waiting for the arm to fall off....

Yeah, but Lincecum went through a nasty slump in August 2010, and came back from that to kill it in the World Series. I think his problems are mental as much as anything.

Also, the spin here has always been that the shorter contracts were Lincecum's idea. The expectation was that he'd end up getting big big BIG money (rather than just the big big money that SF was offering) as a Yankee (or whatever) somewhere down the road.
