Wow! Have to say that in all of the Tweedy/Wilco shows we've seen, tonight would really stack up. Flew in from Boston yesterday for the shows, and while last night was great, tonight was really incredible. I think from start to finish it was one of the best shows I've seen. Jeff seemed in a great mood and the setlist was incredible as you've seen above. Highlights for me were You Are Not Alone (something about the way he sings that song gets me every time), Bull Black Nova, and At Least That's What You Said 'cause it was so cool to see what Jeff could do with these songs solo. Also, I was really hoping for She's A Jar out of one of the two nights and thankfully someone requested it tonight. All of the crowd around us was incredible and overall it felt much better than last night for me. There was one balcony section that was obnoxious but Jeff called them out multiple times in hilarious fashion.

Last time I've seen so many different songs played over two nights was at the Boulder Theater shows but I think these setlists were even better than that somehow. Loved hearing a bunch of the new songs, and my girlfriend had predicted that "Whole Love" would open one of the shows, to which I told her she was crazy, but he did it tonight...BTW that encore!!!! Holy shit. The Thanks I Get>Hoodoo Voodoo>Casino Queen>Acuff Rose, ahhhh I could go on all night. Anyways, thanks to all who requested tonight's setlist and thanks to all of our neighbors tonight. Can't wait to come back next year.

Should be posting a proper review soon at http://deductionsandmelodies.com/ once we get back home...

Another great show with a great audience (with the exception of the one balcony already mentioned--great stock tips, though). This year, in addition to taking requests from the first 30 people, Susan also took questions. Jeff didn't answer all of them, but they provided great fodder for banter. Also, after singing a highly unenthusiastic "Happy Birthday" to Beatrice as a group ("It could always be worse; that's my motto"), someone yelled out, "How old are you?" referring to Beatrice. Jeff responded, "Don't you know anything about women, you son-of-a-bitch? You never ask a woman her age. Get out of here." :lol Oh! He also offered up a "remix" version of Hell is Chrome: "The air was crisp...the air was crisp...the air was crisp." Funny--and could've been a big hit.

Because these shows happen every year, it's easy to take them for granted, but how many artists of Jeff Tweedy's caliber and talent do things like this? Regularly? The Tweedys are incredibly generous, so thanks again to them for one of my favorite weekends of the year.

Fantastic show last night and loved all the banter. Standouts were that gorgeous acoustic version of "At Least That's What You Said" and the unplugged "Acuff-Rose" (my personal favorite of the moment.) The setlist was extremely varied, and I loved hearing some stuff I didn't know, along with interesting versions of old favorites. Jeff's comments on the crowd requests were priceless -- "he's not afraid to pick a hit" (Heavy Metal Drummer), "one of the most reviled songs in the Wilco catalog" (Capitol City), "she apparently hasn't bought a record since the mid-90s". How fun it was to see Jeff so happy and loose, really enjoying himself and laughing at us in the crowd and his own mistakes. I probably won't be implementing his hair care and grooming tips though. Stellar show!

This is one of my favorite weekends too, and this year was no exception. Too many highlights to mention them all, but I was really happy to hear "Watch Me Fall" for the first time. (Ever!) (Kidding.) "Bull Black Nova" is so wonderfully creepy solo. And I love the resonator guitar, in general. Thanks again, Tweedys!

Then he blasts me for having not bought a record since the early-90s, he may have a point, I think I've only bought cds since about that time ;^)

wow, "Wherever" was on the list. I would have loved to hear that performance. I first heard that song on a Uncle Tupelo bootleg cassette.

I had to request it both nights just to hear it, I guess he thought I was joking the first night. He played it great, it went over well and I can't see why it's not played more often, that is one awesome song.

Agreed! I saw you up there recording last night. Looking forward to hearing everything again.

Highlights for me were the songs that aren't already acoustic based. ALTWYS, Bull Black Nova (thank you Paul), and Hoodoo Voodoo were really great. So Much Wine... liked that a lot too.

Definitely a fun crowd and such a great show. Bosco, glad you finally got your song. You looked pretty excited.

I didn't think Jeff was overly into the whole audience question thing. I'm thinking it was Sue's idea, not Jeff's. But it did prompt some great stories (the bike wreck, and his & Sue's first "date") and banter (jean jackets and hair care).

I'm the Beatriz who got the birthday song and the second show by far seemed livelier with a more upbeat setlist. Can't wait to do it all over again next year.

susan's response was "the late 90's asshole!" :P

I forget what song that was for, I seem to recall it being Sumerteeth, I'll have to check the tape, but ya, '99 isn't what I'd call mid-90s either, although "asshole" may be a little harsh. ;)

Oh thank god. I was about to start crying. I'll be waiting on the edge of my seat for the links....

I'm sure Bosco's always-masterful recordings will be up soon. I taped the shows, too, but his will be up much faster and sound better, as usual!

Sorry I thought you were taping both shows...was that the case? I saw you in line, and I meant to say hi, but I didn't get the chance. We chatted at Solid Sound last year. Next time!

I was just having fun, yes I taped both shows, as did another taper.
