rhino4evr
A review from from Uncut magazine has surfaced.9/10. They call it their "On the Beach". Which has me super excited to say the least.

worldrecordplayer
There are images of reviews from Mojo and Uncut posted in the FB group which are not that easy to read. I can't find the reviews on either magazine's website.  Both reviews are great and have me more excited than I already was.
lost highway
That's well written. It's making me restless to hear the damn thing!
u2roolz
The Mojo review that features the word "hitherto". Maybe that constituted a raise of some sorts.
downisthenewup
Calling it their "On the Beach" has me very excited. That's my favorite NY album.
rhino4evr
Not only my favorite Neil Young album, it's also one of my favorite albums of all time. Top 10 material.
knotgreen
I'm appreciating the emphasis on lyrics. I cannot wait to hear this album!
TCP
There's no better way to get me excited than to compare something to On the Beach. Must... remain... calm....
rhino4evr
Yeah, my expectations on this have been pretty low, and the reviews are starting to reverse that. Which is dangerous.
suites
Funny the is the second time On the Beach came up this week. Some random group was playing this last week in Miami 2 days in a row.
ThisIsNowhere
Oh wowee! As if I wasn't already excited enough. And it hasn't already leaked yet? Insane! ***Paitently awaits preorder***
Alone in the Zone
And there is this:Â https://mobile.twitter.com/AntiRecordsEU/status/768748743206301696
Alone in the Zone
FWIW: If I had heard it, which I'm not saying that I have, I would tend to agree more with Mojo than Uncut.
Blackberry Rust
Encouraging - but crikey, that Uncut review is a load of waffly nonsense.

Blackberry Rust
I'm feeling good about this one - it's the first time I've felt genuinely excited about a Wilco release since Sky Blue Sky (Star Wars doesn't count since it was a spontaneous drop.) I've had "If I Ever Was A Child" stuck in my head for a few days, I can't recall the last time that happened with a Wilco pre-album single/leaked track...maybe when I heard "You Are My Face" in early 2007 possibly. I'm sure I won't hate it, but I don't often return to the well to listen to anything after "A Ghost Is Born." That way any surprise will be of the pleasant variety. Still I pre-ordered it the day it became available and will anxiously await its release.
downisthenewup
Way to kill the hype train! He can redeem himself by leaking it, assuming he really does have it. I'm awaiting the orange wax, but can't resist a leak. Especially with a big road trip coming up next weekend.

I loved (and still love Sky Blue Sky) but it was a case of diminishing returns for WTA and The Whole Love. I've since come to enjoy WTA as a slight, yet enjoyable affair, however with The Whole Love (my thoughts on this album are fairly well known on this forum) it's still a case of a few highlights scattered among material I find frustratingly difficult to engage with emotionally. As for Star Wars, I think it's Wilco's best record since Sky Blue Sky and I still get a great deal of playability out of it. My white vinyl's become pretty much a staple of late Sunday mornings.
TCP
Yeah the fact that Star Wars was easily the best Wilco album since A Ghost Is Born only makes the excitement for Schmilco worse. I was definitely not this excited for The Whole Love or Wilco The Album.
worldrecordplayer
I'm a big fan of The Whole Love. But I digress. Â Â
nalafej
3.5 Stars in Rolling Stone (out of 5). Can't find it online. Highlights:Â Normal American Kids is a "classic""occasionally verges on pleasant blandness""Spencer plays drums on it"
rhino4evr
Spencer plays drums...yeah. That's not wilco.
