At one point I would have said The Time=Prince & The Revolution "Jerome! Bring me my mirror!"

Nels' outfit is sheer genius! It's strangely classy, yet, well... strange. It makes a statement that says, "Hey Grammys! I don't take you that seriously AND I look cool doing it... sort of."

From the Obama site: So... yes, but not subsidies for all. So,yeah - a little pink! But isn't this going to cost less than people going to the ER with no insurance? Also, I think I just answered my own question while looking for the subsidy info. (Did I spell that right? It looks weird.) Didn't notice this part before. Participating companies implies that it isn't a gov't run healthcare system. It merely puts the kabosh on withholding kidneys and such.

All that and they're really friggin' cheap! And when you transfer to the university of your choice, it's not like your diploma will have an asterik on it. Still works. Also, my brief $.02 on the original post in this thread - if you're writing two papers at whatever god-awful time of night you're doing that at, don't waste your time posting on a rock band fan site. Crank it out and go to bed!

Actually, even though it's there 24/7, I never notice it or think about it during the day. I'm rarely in a totally quiet place when I'm not sleeping - I have 2 year old twins! And yeah, those short people sure are rude. Actually, it was really weird because I'm not THAT tall (6'2") and there wasn't anyone much over 5'10" anywhere near me. I never stick (up) out of a crowd like that. I was feeling rather self-conscious about blocking people's view more than anything.

Oh, it exists! It's just written in arabic. -
Are you just worried that it might be "a little pink" or is it a little pink? Not trying to be a smart-ass. I'm really not seeing where the 'medium-rare' is in these plans and as much as I want health care for all, I really don't want crappy health care for all.

THEY DID!!! Damn! Now I'm bummed I missed the show. BTW - nobody was really surprised that the Foo Fighters won in that category, were they? They were the only ones in the Rock Album category who were also nominated for album of the year. They had to win, otherwise why wouldn't Wilco or Daughtry or Bruce or whoever be up for album of the year?

I would like to take a brief moment to remind everyone that we can now count the days until pitchers and catchers report on one hand!

Not real sure I get what you're saying here. -
Wow! I'm glad I read this thread - now I know what to call that ringing in my ears that I only hear at night ever since going to that Old 97's show about 4 years ago. The entire show was absurdly loud and in a tiny venue (The Viper Room) and to add to it, everyone around me was considerably shorter, so the sound wasn't being muffled by those around me but going unimpeded to my ear drums. I blame the Viper Room sound crew, not the band.

OK, maybe I'm missing something here. Both Hillary and Obama say that they want a plan that is the same as the one available to members of Congress made available to everyone. Not that everyone HAS TO use it, just that if your employer doesn't provide a plan, you can join this new plan. How is that socialized medicine? Hillary of course wants to make it mandatory that you get some form of health insurance (the congress-style plan or keep your own) so I can see where some would say the big-brother mentality portion of that is somewhat socialist, but how is the plan itself socialized? Not aski

Thanks! I don't really remember much about that movie other than just being totally on the edge of my seat.

What was the movie where he was trying to move a truck full of nitroglycerine through the Amazon rainforest?

Unfortunately, jakob makes a good point. There are a ton of really, really dumb people in America. Enough that when given a choice, we opted for W... twice.* I read his post not as his views, but pointing out how low conservatives will go. -
If you'd like I could dig up some obituaries of random non-famous folks and post that instead. Mmm, nah. That sounds more like a job for IRDB.

Welcome! I'm sure you'll find that we're not at all the stereotypically flakey weirdos we're made out to be. Now if you'll excuse me I have to take the kids to their Feng Shui accupuncture yoga class.

From the LA Times opinion section today. Pretty funny take on Obama-mania. Joel Stein: He's got Obamaphilia It's embarrassing to be among the fanatics of a relatively mainstream presidential candidate. February 8, 2008 You are embarrassing yourselves. With your "Yes We Can" music video, your "Fired Up, Ready to Go" song, your endless chatter about how he's the first one to inspire you, to make you really feel something -- it's as if you're tacking photos of Barack Obama to your locker, secretly slipping him little notes that read, "Do you like me? Check yes or no." Some of you even cry a -

There. Fixed it for you. -
I think they should make it like a playoff - start with NH and Iowa about a month apart, then onto South Carolina and Nevada. After that split the rest of the country up into 2 groups with each "super" primary about 1.5 months apart. States could be chosen at random or on a rotating basis as to who gets to go in the early group. And yes, it should all be proportional. As for other parties, maybe this whole conservatives vs. McCain rift will tear them apart and create a new Conservative Party and the Repubs will move to the center and become the moderate party. The Dems have sort of already m

While I agree that the war shouldn't have been started, I think it's naive to think that terrorism isn't a real threat. I do agree that we are being scared into submission about it, ala the Red Scare years. These sorts of things have been happening in Europe and Israel for decades (granted not as spectacularly as 9/11), so we're a bit new at dealing with it. When we were attacked we should have fought back DIRECTLY at Al Queda by sending all those troops that went to Iraq into Afghanistan, and then some. If you can't find the terrorists that are hiding in the mountains... bomb the crap out of
