  1. Here's the link to the RSVP. (You are in the Boston area? Right?) Seems to me that the reason he's surging in the polls is that when people take the time to actually listen and get to know him, they don't look back. EDIT: I'm hoping that my name and email info only come up in that sign-in screen because I'm looking at it on my computer.
  2. I would hope that if the conservatives hate her that much and don't want her in because they truly believe in their heart of hearts that she'd be bad for the country, that they wouldn't want her to get the nomination. I think Barack would clean the floor with Huckabee, but I don't want him in because he's rather scary. I'm not thrilled about the possibility of McCain, but he's at least competent. If nothing else, the last 7 years have taught us the importance of competence.
  3. Pretty funny to open up the paper and see this: Gibson Robot Guitar: Forever In Tune? Photographs by Wendy Sue Lamm The Gibson Robot Guitar, first-run limited edition in blue silverburst with nitrocellulose finish, $2,499, at www.gibson.com. Wilco guitarist Nels Cline puts the new self-tuning wonder through its paces. By Thierry Peremarti Guitarists often muse that one spends more time tuning one
  4. I was always trying to say that they had zero in common with the GD and that any comparison was insane. Now I find out they were doing covers with Phil. Insert egg on face smiley here.
  5. My problem with it is that if we were to switch to it, how much corn would we have to grow to be able to fuel our cars? Wouldn't that lead to overfarming that would destroy the soil and lead to another dust bowl situation? Yeah, I'm for alternative fuels - but not that one. How about nuclear cars?
  6. Maybe someone around here who can pull a few strings could convince Jeff to put it up on the Wilco site, along with an endoresment/plea to get out and vote.
  7. Umm... I think you should be posting in Just a Fan. Duh!* *Yes. I'm kidding. Yes, I'm also insanely jealous.
  8. What? The Nor'easters weren't enough?
  9. A friend of mine used to tease me about Wilco as being just like the Greatful Dead, and I always told him he was crazy. Guess who has to eat his words now?
  10. Maybe, but Kwame played like he was drinking Smirnoff Ice during the game. Goodbye Kwame "Hands of Brick" Brown!! Man I can't wait for Bynum to be healthy and see those two along side each other!
  11. Hey A-Man! Hope you have a good one! Cheers!
  12. All of which points directly to a common sense solution - alternative fuels. FORGET GLOBAL WARMING! Even if it's BS (which I doubt) there are so many good reasons to go full-bore on investing in other ways to get around - I'm not going to quibble about which would be best, I'll leave that for the "experts." But if we got together and quit bickering this would be doable - and probably cheaper.
  13. In IRDB's defense: Not sure that people really read the title of the graph - it's in today's dollars. So when he says it's more expensive now, it's correct. If you want to argue other factors like previous artificial price reductions, that's legit. Not in IRDB's defense: Why come? Dude. And I think people jump all over you and your arguments less for the content than the way you present them. Just a thought.
  14. Well, I think we can project a winner in this one now.
  15. McCain's a liberal and Hillary is a conservative. I'm getting vertigo from all the shifting core convictions. Brian Ross piece from Good Morning America
  16. Worse... they were 'moving around when I'm trying to concentrate.'
  17. You KNOW he's OK then! Glad to hear everyone's back and (getting) better!
  18. I was actually mocking Berman, since he said something to that effect in the clip.
  19. This thread is so rude I can't believe it. It's so God damn rude.
  20. Solace, are you doing any volunteer work for the campaign? If anyone's interested, since there seems to be plenty of support around here, just go here on his website and sign up. There's plenty of opportunities to help out that require little effort on your part. Making phone calls can be done from home and it's super easy. I went to a phone bank the other day and it was rather fun actually.
