The Million Dollar Hotel soundtrack is worth checking out if you like U2's less mainstream side. "The Ground Beneath Her Feet' and "Stateless" are both very good and I really like the Bono/Daniel Lanois track "Falling At Your Feet."

In for Saturday and Sunday at the Fillmore! My first Wilco show was seeing them on the Being There tour at the Fillmore so it'll be nice to see them there again.
-
Thanks. I was hoping for a pre-sale for the Fillmore shows. I guess I'll try my luck in the general sale.
-
Any info on a pre-sale today through Live Nation? I haven't seen any emails to that effect nor is there one listed on the sale page.
-
Same here. Hopefully, the general sale will be better.
-
Nice! It will be cool to see them at the Fillmore again although that's sure to be a tough ticket to get.

Day of the Dead-The National curated GD tribute album

A lot of artists I like on there. I wonder how pricey this will be though. A 5-CD set is not likely to be cheap. I'm sure vinyl will be much more expensive. -
Mr Misunderstood (i wonder if jeff's ears are burning?)

Here's a little more info on the lyrics from Vulture. http://www.vulture.com/2015/11/wilco-inspire-eric-churchs-new-country-single-mr-misunderstood.html "...on Eric Church's own new surprise album,Mr. Misunderstood, released during the CMAs last night, Wilco appear via both name-check and obvious inspiration. (What would a great Eric Church single be without a rock-and-roll shout-out?) On the second verse of the album's title track (and further rumination on Church's outsider status), he sings: Now, your buddies get their rocks off on Top 40 radio But you love your daddy's vinyl, old-time r -
I think so. It was also the first song off the album I remember hearing because they played it at One Big Holiday and the video of the performance was on YouTube. According to setlist.fm they've only played it 16 times with the last time in Seattle on Oct. 2. By comparison, they've played "Compound Fracture" 60 times.

I saw them on the last two of the three-night San Francisco run. Both were great shows but on the last night they took it to another level. Great set list and amazing energy. The only thing I'm curious about is they don't seem to be adding "Big Decisions" to their recent set lists, which is too bad because it's one of my favorites off the new album.

Wilco — 8/5/15, Los Angeles, CA (Greek Theatre)
scribex6 replied to bböp's topic in After The Show
I was in the pit for the show last night as well. Amazing set! I loved that they played "Star Wars" in its entirety and then brought out all the heavy-hitters. I was considering buying that poster too but I have too many covering my wall and was a little short on funds. But it looks great. -
In the pit for LA Greek! Best luck I've had in a Wilco pre-sale in a long time.

Here's a link to Bono's A to Z recap of 2014. http://www.u2.com/news/title/little-book-of-a-big-year/ A long read but I enjoyed reading it. Sad to see that some people on Twitter are already taking glee in Bono possibly never playing guitar again. Of course, they missed that he beat them to the punchline "The band have reminded me that neither they nor Western civilization are depending on this." Whether or not he was a good guitarist -- and he's certainly never claimed to be that good -- it would be too bad if he lost the ability to do something that he enjoyed.

Does the vinyl come with the album on CD as well, like Wilco have done with their other vinyl releases?

You're welcome, Comic Book Guy. -
New U2 album "Songs of Innocence" available free on iTunes
scribex6 replied to Hixter's topic in Someone Else's Song
It shows up in your iTunes cloud where you can choose to download it or ignore it. If you don't want it and haven't downloaded it by Oct. 13, it will disappear after then. Hardly the equivalent of "raping" users. For those of us who are U2 fans, it's a nice, surprise gift. For those who don't want it, you can treat it like spam and ignore it. -
Just got a pair of tickets to the Largo Sunday show! Looks like they had so many duplicate orders that they released more tickets. But it still took numerous tries again to get through.
-
Ha! They have a two ticket limit so anything over that amount is voided anyway. I was tempted to try but tried to clear my shopping cart so I had only two tickets and just got error messages.
-
Had the same problems. At one point I got to the page to fill out my payment information and it showed my shopping cart had $1,120 worth of tickets from all my attempts. Ridiculous.
-
Agreed. I'm a regular visitor to Largo and that place is small. And if you're lucky enough to get through and buy tickets for one night, I'm sure the other nights will be sold out.
-
I'll second what remphish1 said. I've seen them a bunch of times and they're amazing live. I'm looking forward to seeing them at Coachella this year.

I have an extra GA ticket for the 1/25 Wilco show at the Wiltern. I'd like to trade it for a ticket to the Warfield show on 1/29, preferably GA. If you're interested email me at imrangh@gmail.com
-
Hi, I'm looking for one ticket to the Warfield show in SF. If you've got an extra please let me know. Please email me at imrangh@aol.com Thanks.
-
The Warfield Axs website sucked. Couldn't get through at all.
