So the White House is now criticizing Bill Clinton for his criticism of the Libby commutation, using Clinton's pardon of Marc Rich to call into question his own practices. Never mind that Rich's pardon had been called for by his attorney -- a guy by the name of I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby.

If you have any fascination at all with antiquity, it'd be a pity to skip Rome -- the Forum and Colosseum and Pantheon and Circus Maximus etc. etc. etc. Lots o' good shit. Oh, and the Vatican and the Spanish Steps, the food, blah blah fuckity. Careful, though -- drivers in Rome are about the craziest I've ever seen. If you get to Florence, don't miss the Uffizi.

Lengthy iPhone review

According to these posts, there are ways to enjoy an iPhone without submitting to AT&T -- assuming you don't mind that it won't actually function as a phone. Also, this seems to suggest that you could probably activate it on some other network if you could figure out how. I haven't tried any of this myself ... just pulling links off of BoingBoing.
