  2. Well, I'm hardly a typical cellphone user, so my suggestion was unrealistic anyway. Mine is basically for emergencies only -- I probably turn it on and use it once every couple of weeks, if that. So, I go long enough between recharges that I frequently manage to lose my recharging cable.

  4. That wasn't intended as way to express my opinion of cellphones ... merely as a tip for saving your cellphone battery. I leave my phone off most of the time, and I have to recharge it maybe once every couple of months. Damn. People all up in my grill an' shit.
  5. I think I've got something I found in a used CD store once called "Poised For Stardom" that's Olson-era. If I remember when I'm home tonight, I'll verify that and maybe upload it somewhere.
  6. Or QuickTime without iTunes (my preference).

  8. Apparently she did that already. That's why he has to call her.
  9. I'd like to see the results of that study.
  10. To me, she's someone who had one great album in her (her first), and she's been desperately trying to squeeze the last few drops from that tube ever since. But what a great album that was. Yeah, perhaps gratuitously shocking at times, but it's one of the best things that came out of that stretch of the '90s.
  11. Not at all. Pretty much. And I say that as a former member of the "wake-and-bake" crowd.
  12. Yippee skip. It's the Columbine anniversary. Nothing to celebrate, especially this year.
  13. Just once, I want to see that thing say: - A. Dickhead homered to shallow center.

  16. I really don't want to wade into the gun control argument here, but I will say that I strongly doubt this kid would ever have gotten past the fantasy stage without easy access to guns. Guns can take a meek, disturbed kid and turn him into a dangerous killer -- they're a way to reverse roles, a way for such a kid to finally exert power over those he feels have oppressed him. Without the ability to obtain guns, his options for killing large numbers of people -- or small numbers, for that matter -- would have been severely limited. Maybe he would have loaded up a Ryder truck with a couple tons

  18. I was pretty disappointed in this piece. Great premise ... poor execution.
