  1. That goes for me too. Next time we'll show up early and have plenty of time to talk to people!
  2. You were there? How did I miss you? Apparently I missed meeting Kate and Graham too, which I'm also very sad about. All the more reason for more VC events in the future!
  3. Did you honestly expect people to sing along to a song that had never been released (and still hasn't)? The less people sing along at shows, the happier I am.
  4. He leads a band called Royal Gun, and has played a lot recently with the Pernice Brothers.
  5. I heard that James Walbourne is playing with Son Volt now, and if that's who you're referring to, the answer is "Because James Walbourne is awesome."
  6. But that would make it afternoon coffee, wouldn't it?
  7. So, you have something against fat people?
  8. Really. Dumb. Thread. (Not the original concept ... just what it's become.)
  9. Anyone else have trouble with the 72 MB zip? I'm grabbing it again right now because my first attempt came down as an invalid file. edit: never mind, I think it was a firewall setting messing me up.
  10. I'll pile on and also request a shout out on how to find this. Thanks! edit: Thanks folks ... I'm all set.
  11. I use EAC to rip AND burn CDs. It pays to hunt down tutorials on using the program and learn. You will want to take the steps to introduce the software to your hardware (CD drives).
  12. Melissa and I have arrived safely back in our corner of the big mitten. If I have one regret about this weekend, it's that I didn't have more time to talk with people. We were probably the last ones to arrive for the show, so our meet-and-greet time was minimal. Hopefully there will be a "next time" during which I can atone for that, even if it's just a VC summit of some sort (hopefully during warmer weather this time). So nice to meet so many of you this weekend! Oh, and j4 ... incredible work on the poster. I can't wait to get this framed ... and it shall enjoy a place of honor
  13. We're very sad that we had to leave when we did (Jeff and Sue followed us out the front door) but we were dead tired after a jam-packed weekend. We're still not quite home (stopped at my parents' house in Kalamazoo). What an incredible night that was. I still can't quite believe that Jeff so willingly and graciously does these things, and I feel so fortunate to have been a part of one. The songs sounded so good last night, and Jeff was in fine voice and really seemed to be enjoying himself. He let everyone in the room pick one song, which was great. A million thanks to Jeff and Sue for t
  14. The next town over from us is frequently referred to as "Ypsitucky."
  15. It's just "Sather," actually, but I completely agree. If you go, a cinnamon roll is a must. And some Swedish potato sausage.
  16. Near south side. Up-and-coming area. And they have a Leona's, so it can't be too bad. Now I should really shut up and defer to people who actually still live in Chicago.
