I ordered the DVD from Musictoday on September 15th (!) and it still hasn't arrived. My friend ordered it from Chapters (online) last week and she already has it. Unfortunately, Wilco/Jeff has never played Victoria. They skipped the west coast completely on the almost Trans Canada tour this summer.

No luck at Zulu? Highlife on Commercial Drive might have it (I found Man in the Sand there). If not, I'm sure they would order it for you.

North Beach is a must if you love coffee and books. And definitely take gogo's advice about the Fillmore. You won't be sorry. If you're driving up the coast, check out Patrick's Point State Park (north of Eureka, CA) and the beaches along the OR coast (great storm watching in the winter months). The dunes are pretty cool too. If you're passing through Portland, be sure to drop by Powell's Books. In Seattle, the area in and around the Pike Place Market is always fun to explore. There's also a nice guitar shop not far away (near Pioneer Square?). The EMP is worth a visit as well

I don't think the state should be allowed to take a human life. That's just not an acceptable punishment for any crime (IMO) and it's not a deterrent.

Reminds me of David Milgaard. Thank god for DNA testing!

I'm still waiting for the Canada Post dog team to deliver mine.

I forgot to mention that it's a crime to incite hatred against an identifiable group based on colour, race, religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation, so the posties aren't totally out in left field here. Battle over anti-gay brochures reaches Ottawa Hmm...

I guess this is a bit like pharmacists who refuse to dispense the morning-after pill because of their religious beliefs, but there's another aspect to consider. In this case, the union's constitution states that letter carriers must take steps to "eliminate racism, discrimination and homophobia from our workplaces." I wonder if gay postal workers could put forward a grievance/harassment case if they're forced to deliver this stuff? Interesting dilemma for management.

Neil Young - Tonight's The Night Acetates
Dreamin' replied to Coltrane's topic in Someone Else's Song
My baby daughter (4 wks old today) finally let me get around to watching the first disc today. Great performance of "Only Love Can Break Your Heart." (My little girl is already showing signs of being a Neil Young fan because she stops crying when I sing his songs to her - her favourite lullaby is "Cinnamon Girl.") I hope he's kidding. Here's what Neil said about TTN in Shakey -

Come to think of it, wasn't the original (Briggs) mix of TTN destroyed? I think Neil mentions this in Shakey.
