  1. Yeah. Quimby's isn't really a comic shop to me as it is an underground bookstore full of inde-lit novels and zines. They do have comics though, quite a few. Chicago Comics, on Clark just a touch north of Belmont, is a good place too. I love that Jeff digs my favorite bookshop. For some reason though, I really can't picture him in there.
  2. Quimbys, IMO, is the best indie bookstore in the city. The Midwest, for that matter. Everyone should check it.
  3. See, the thing about Pitchfork is they suck! They just want more YHF is all, and are stuck seeing the band a Sonic Youth impersonators--who really aren' that innovative anyway after twenty years of the same music. I like them, but they're not that cutting edge anymore-- and avant-garde weirdos. They just can't see that this record is just as much of a statement as YHF or AGIB--it's just goes about making that statement much more quitely.
  4. Many thanks for the info, man. Much appreciate it. It does look pretty damn cool.
  5. I don't know if this has been discussed, but where/when is thie video from? http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...eoid=2017595250
  6. In no order whatsoever: 1. Via Chicago 2. I Am Trying To Break Your Heart 3. Theologians 4. Misunderstood 5. Magazine Called Sunset 6. Hate It Here 7. Leave Me Like You Found Me 8. Was I In Your Dreams 9. She's A Jar 10. I'm Always In Love
  7. These songs would rock with the full band, IMO: In the Future Age Shouldn't be Ashamed Red Eyed-Blue Pot Kettle Black Can't Stand It
  8. You know, I'm glad the band can play and fill a big venue like the Auditorium, but I miss the days of them playing The Vic or The Riv. I'm hoping for those two.
  9. This was already mentioned in a previous post, but was anyone else surprised at how few songs from SBS were played? It seemed much like the sets they have been playing for the last couple of years. No qualms about it, just kind of surprised more new material wasn't played.
  10. I agree with the On and On and On folks. I also really love the last "honey, I think you're just right, you're just riiiiight" in Walken. Can't forget "the drunks are ricocheting..." Aw hell, I like them all.
  11. Many thanks, bucknaked--awesome handle, by the way.
  12. Am I mistaken, or didn't the boys cover this song live for a while? Could someone post it or PM me. Much appreciate it y'all, -N

    jesus etc

Could someone post/PM me Corduroy Cuttoff Girl? I have yet to hear it. Thanks, -N
  14. I like it very much. It's a little different, but I think fits well in the context of the record. I love the wavy, kind of distorted sound of the guitars. Quite groovy.
  15. I do need to read more carefully...damn.
  16. Hmm...this is a tough one. How about this: SBS YHF/ST (These two are interchangable) AGIB BT AM KT
  17. I agree with the nature of this thread completely. Wilco is one of the best, if not the best working band out there. For me, the Flaming Lips are close behind, followed by The Shins--their new record is great!--Sonic Youth, Califone, Ben Kweller, some Arcade Fire, and Paul Westerberg.
  18. I didn't see it like that at all, but now that you mention it I think I buy that. Especially with songs like Shake It Off and Hate It Here.
  19. For me most likely it would have to be Impossible Germany. Sky Blue Sky, Hate It Here, and You Are My Face are right behind IG though.
  20. OMG! That's what I thought the first time I heard it, but more like something off of Up.
  21. I've listened to it four times, twice in a car and twice on my headphones. I, like Reagent, really dig Hate It Here, and Leave Me (Like You Found Me) is pretty solid too. Sky Blue Sky, the song, is so soft and lovely to listen to as well. Impossible Germany has to be my favorite though...
  22. Sure. It's 867-5309...I'll be waiting.
  23. I hope I don't. I am one.
  24. Sorry about that everyone--I fat-fingered that one. And I know some people aren't going to like it, and that's totally fine. I was just trying to shed some light on a different way to look at it
