I understand that the SEC did the best they could under some trying circumstances, but Kentucky's loss today, should only count as half a loss. If it was in the Georgia dome, their massive fan base would'vd made it overwhelmingly in their favor. Nonetheless I feel good about an 7 or 8 seed. More excitingly Duke is down 9 to Clemson with 16 left.

So has anyone else heard about the weirdness going on at the SEC tourney right now?An indoor weather delay. Piece of the building have been damaged. Who knows what they'll do if its determined that the building is unsafe. Very, very weird. Update: ATLANTA -- A severe storm ripped two holes in the side of the Georgia Dome during the Southeastern Conference tournament, halting the Alabama-Mississippi State and sending fans fleeing for the exits. The teams were sent to the locker room while those who remained at their seats looked anxiously toward the roof. The game was stopped with Missis

As tempting a sit is, my bank account can't even think about ST. Louis right now, but a run of east coast shows? No doubt about it.

I'm really bumming that I'm here in ACC land and wont find any SEC tourney games on tv until the final. Here's hoping Kentucky will still be around then. I went to the '95 championship in Atlanta with Kentucky and Arkansas in the final. That game was one for the ages. Of course I'm sure it stung like hell in Arkansas.

Madonna, Mellencamp Lead 2008 Rock Hall Class
LouisvilleGreg replied to Analogman's topic in Someone Else's Song
Yeah, I know but don't the overall odds in the future seem better for bands like Radiohead or Wilco, due to the simple fact that there are nowhere near as many worthwhile bands in this era. Public Enemy will be an interesting test as well, in 2012. I'm still totally bullshit over the KISS thing. Take away the makeup, the fire, the gimmics and you are left with a great string of 6 pretty damn good rock n' roll records. They should be in on album sales and for revolutionizing merchandising alone. -

There's gotta be a full original GN'R reunion for 2012. What's more likely to heppen, that reunion in four years or Chinese Democracy coming out first. Nirvana would be 2014, Pearl Jam 2016, Radiohead 2018, then the big one, Wilco in 2020. A few years ago I thought that was probably a severe long shot, but now I almost expect that it will happen. -
Yeah Laurie you could almost sense that he couldn't even believe that he was doing it himself. Like once he got up there he was like oh shit now I gotta do it. 40 is the new 30 I suppose.

I tell you what photo I haven't seen anywhere yet and it's a real shame is the one of John's death defying leap off of the top of his amp on the last night. I thought for sure he was gonna break something. It was absolutely perfect.

A little birdy on VC alerted me to these this morning. I think I actually remember when #184 was shot.

I'm thinking VCU is in some serious hot water, but I'm holding out hope that there aren't too many mid major tourney upsets this week. Kentucky on the other hand could either do some seriously unexpected damage or fade really fast.

What's the oldest thing in your house?
LouisvilleGreg replied to bjorn_skurj's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
When I moved from my prior house to this one in 2002, my mom who lives in Kentucky said to me "Please Tell me you're at least moving into a newer house," I replied "The new one's 16 years newer, it was built in 1886 versus 1870." She didn't find this amusing at all. -
Dual fan here. Kentucky since birth, and Virginia Commonwealth, the past decade. Kentucky has regrouped rather nicely after an abysmal start and finished with 12 SEC wins, which is good for an NCAA lock. VCU, who beat Duke in the first round last year, and played Pittsburgh to overtime in the second round, was upset in the semifinals of their (CAA) tournament this weekend and is all over the bubble now, despite winning their conference by 3 games. The CAA has placed 2 teams each the past couple of years and George Mason of course, made it to the Final 4 in '06. GMU went on to win teh CAA tourn

Who's been interviewed for the Wilco documentary?

That one was all scripted, right down to Jeff's fake puke in case you haven't heard. -

Hello my two favorite brothers of Chicago. AWWWW those circle pics are too cute for words. Nice work on all of your creatively manipulated live shots as well. Do stay in touch and grace us with your presence around here more often. take care, greg -
Who's been interviewed for the Wilco documentary?
LouisvilleGreg replied to creativetype's topic in Just A Fan
I thought the fans in Heavy Metal Parking Lot came off real well in the final edit. -
I just read that Rolling Stone piece on the residency and in it Jeff says something about going into the studio later this year. There's no way they're not going to tour during the summer. That's their bread and butter. But just knowing that plans are already underway for studio time is a good thing.

I have a question about the wilco sweatshirt off wilcoworld
LouisvilleGreg replied to 1212's topic in Just A Fan
So, that's why I heard you referred to as the 2nd funniest VC poster during the residency! -
It's funny that anyone would look at that movie as an attempt to hype an unknown band. I mean its pretty ugly with the Jeff Jay squabbling, the puking, the messy label ordeal, it's not a total glamour portrait by a long shot. What a piece of work that guy was.
