  1. I too, at the age of 14 saw Fugazi in what I believe was one of their first ever out of DC shows in southern Indiana in '88. Saw them about six or seven other times over the years. All great!
  2. My Morning Jacket, errrr I mean, Ruckus, does a ripping, fire starting version at the end of "Elizabethtown." Pretty funny stuff, but they seem to really be into it.
  3. Where is the 15 Years on "Still Feel Gone" thread? In a parallel universe this should have been the breakout, era defining album of 1991. Having said that, I'm glad it wasn't. But it's still better than "Nevermind."
  4. I'm just about finished up with Disc One right now and it is damn near perfect. "One Big Holiday" and "Lowdown" are early favorites, but no weak cuts yet. A heads up for those who may not know, the vinyl will have an extra four tracks not available on the cds, mine's on order already. Can't wait for the upcoming tour, I'm gonna try for 3 or 4 shows.
  5. I paid $200 for a $75 Springsteen ticket five years ago and I gotta say it was worth every penny of it. Might have something to do with being in the front row, on the stage, in my own city where I walked to the venue. Oh yeah and Heidi what time will you arrive in the West VA GA line? Annette and I will see you there.
  6. I'm not typically one to give up too easily, and although I have always gotten in to every Wilco show that I've wanted to see, including going to several shows far distances without a ticket and getting one out front, I'm passing on this one. I have instead settled on the West Virginia show the night before. Here's hoping that the two upcoming My Morning Jacket 9:30 shows wont be as difficult to get into. Bring on Morgantown!
  7. The no opening band concept is a good one from where I'm sitting. Springsteen has been doing it for over thirty years, culminating with regular four hour shows on The River Tour in '80-'81. Could Wilco pull off a four hour show? Hell, could they pull off a three hour show? They'd have to dig a lot deeper in the back catalog for sure.
  8. One of my favorites as well. reminds me of "Stay With Me," by The Faces. I think I would just about die if I was at a Wilco show and they played it. Excellent ending to a perfect record.
  9. In keeping with some of the celebrity-themed names: Harvey Keitel's Speedmachine The Sally Strugglers The Connie Dungs The Chauncey Gardeners The Hairy Carreys John Brown's Babies Gabriel Prossor's Posse Others: Crime and The Common Man Smokestack Lightening The Dairy Queens Mr. Speed & the Straightsticks Question? Which of these ludicris names have actually been used?
  10. It hasn't been played live, and it's not even a Wilco song, but it's new, "A Long Time Ago," from the new Smog is my favorite. But "Walken," is pretty great as well.
  11. Yes the whole place is General Admission, so get there early. You wont regret how intimate it is.
  12. Faster than 45 minutes for sure, more like 10-15. Remember the 9:30 Club is just that, a club. It's pretty much as small a space as you'll ever see Wilco play. The capacity is probably around a very packed 1,200. Why not just try the Wilcoworld presale?
  13. The two shows at the 9:30 In February '05 sold out real fast if I remember correctly, not a matter of hours, but of minutes. Being that this is just one, it will be extremely fierce competition. Nonetheless when I get mine I hope to see some of the same beautiful people in the GA line as last time. One of the two days was the coldest all winter and we were there many, many hours before the door. Luckily we were let in early out of the frigid weather and got to hear the soundcheck and get out of the elements. Oh yeah, the shows were unbelievable. The weather should be much more accomodating in
  14. I could go either way with the two sets or one, and not to beat a old drum here but I think more variation would shut down a lot of these types of threads. I don't think the 2vs1 debate would exist if say a third to a half of the show was different from night to night. It would seem to be that since 2/3 of the band have joined during YHF and AGIB that the material from those two albums would be old and boring to those members and only Jeff and John would be bored with the first three albums and various other outtakes from '95-01. I understand that a lot of AM type stuff doesn't quite work wit
  15. I saw that trailer about a week ago and have since watched it once a day since. No doubt in my mind this will be one hell of an album/ DVD. Also it's going to be released at a later date as a 4 album vinyl box set with additional songs. How great will that be?
  16. Anyone here follow Ted while In Chisel? I've seen the Pharmacists and they are excellent, but seeing Chisel in a tiny, grubby, punk club in Indianapolis in 1996 was something truly special. I still listen to "8 AM All Day" fairly often.
  17. The Iroquois Theatre is an outdoor ampitheatre in Iroquois Park in The southend. It's a grand old Olmstead- designed park about 8-10 miles south of downtown off of Taylor Boulevard. There is an amazing view of the whole city up at the top and it's definitely worth arriving early not only for the soundcheck, but to walk around the massive park for a couple of hours. I spent hundreds of hours in the park as a teenager getting into all sorts of things that teenagers get into. The actual ampitheatre is outdoors witha traditional bowl style seating arrangement. It's mostly used for plays and class
  18. Not to gripe, and indeed I'm very excited, but there's only about fifteen songs slated. Even the short solo shows are 20-22 songs. Perhaps all of the interview and behind scenes type footage will make up for the low number of songs.
  19. "The Losing End" was great and got me to clamoring to hear this:Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere 1995-09-04 & 1999-08-28. Only played twice ever, although I'm pretty sure I've got a copy of UT playing it. Anyone have either of these two times that Wilco performed it? Froggie?
  20. I will take either BT album over anything else, with the occasional exception of YHF.
  21. Surprisingly not much different than NC, but probably well worth it for the Awesome Neil Young cover. Thanks for the details, Greg
  22. Heading out the door in Richmond in a few minutes for the show. Looking forward to hearing some golden oldies and hopefully a few newbies as well, "Long Time Ago," comes to mind again. Everyone else, enjoy, maybe I'll meet some of you there, I'm wearing a My Morning Jacket t-shirt. So long, Greg
