So if anyone remembers the weird ticket mix up during the pre-sale, I'm one one of the lucky ones. I kept trying to get premium but couldn't. Thinking that perhaps all of the premium we're gone I went for what I thought was the next section back. Once I confirmed I realized that I had actually just gotten front row, center stage. As it turned out, the premium seats were quite a few rows back. Very confusing, but I'm glad that it turned out the way that it did. Alright so I just finally got the new Golden Smog this past week and it's pretty good, but probably comes in well behind the other two full lengths. However, the Tweedy penned, "A Long Time Ago," just tears me apart. Thematically it's similar to "Please Tell My Brothers," but damn I might like it even more than that song, which I think is excellent. I mean I just listened to it four times in a row. Not brand new news, but pretty new and damn exciting news. I saw "I Am Trying To Break Your Heart" in three cities when it was released. Here's hoping I get to do the same for "Okonokos." I didn't get a chance to listen last night. A question for someone who was present? Did My Morning Jacket and The The Raconteurs play at the same time? If so that sort of sucks, but I definitely would go with MMJ.

That's a very admirable, if not totally insane thing to try and compile. Does that include small club shows where four bands played in three hours? Between 1989-1995 I probably saw 150 punk shows a year. Maybe over a thousand bands. I know that sounds improbable, but beleive me there were scores of them and I too once upon a time had a very insane list of every one of those shows, who played, the venue, etc. So, what I'm saying is good luck.

Farewell, farewell to one of the most underrated bands and most awesome live bands of the past decade. You will be sorely missed.

It's sad that no one has commented on this thread. This is one of the premiere live bands around if you catch them on the right night. Any old Replacements fans out there should definitely go see Lucero. They also cover one of my favorite Jawbreaker songs, and do it pretty damn well I might add. Go see 'em!

Springsteen set the standard with reissues with the Deluxe 30th Anniversary "Born To Run" set. As a matter of fact I can't imagine buying any classic bands reissues without some sort of DVD component, because if it's not included now, you know it will be in five more years when they do 'em again. Glad I've got most all of those Elvis albums on vinyl, and haven't rebought any of them yet.

Because I've listened to My Morning Jacket's "Z," about 100 times this year, I've skipped back two albums to 2001's "At Dawn" and am loving it all over again. Can't wait to see this unstoppable live band again soon.

In all honesty I think the odds of Wilco becoming a huge, commercial success are rapidly decreasing with each album, and may have even been at a high with "A.M." I've been wracking my brains for awhile here and I really can't think of any band whose average age is in their early 40's reaching their career popularity peak. I think a couple of fair comparisons for Wilco's future can be found in Sonic Youth and The Flaming Lips. Every five years or so the indie press will rally around a new album, proclaim its genious, and it'll will sell 3-500,000 records to an insanely devoted, yet ever-roatati

Rome also plays the intro to "Boxcar" by Jawbreaker on occasion when coming back from commercials. I guess by saying that I'm admitting to listening quite often.

What about the classic, "I Got You (at the dawn of the century)?"

I think we've been down this road before and the answer seems to be overwhelmingly #1. In fact I'd go as far to say that I like the first two sides as an individual album more than "A.M.," "SummerTeeth" or "AGIB." If you add in "Sunken Treasure," "The Lonely 1" and "Dreamer," I like "BT" better by miles and really it's damn close to "YHF" as well.

"Have I missed any other musical acts that can reach these levels live in concert? The Dead? Dave Matthews (don't barf)? I suppose this kind of rock show is a thing of the past..." I've seen about a dozen Springsteen shows and maybe 15-20 Wilco and though I never saw them live, The video footage I've seen of The Clash is unbelievably great, but to me, and it helps if you know the material, My Morning Jacket are the premiere live band around right now. A few thoughts: 1 - It's funny how much everyone acts like they hate this album, yet on rare days when they bust out "Passenger Side" or "Casino Queen," everyone goes crazy and a surprising number of people seem to know all of the words. 2 - "Too Far Apart" is just simply excellent! 3 - I think that even considering "Summerteeth," this is the album that probably had the highest chance of making Wilco a household name. Excellent report, big shoes to fill with no Paul, very well done. I did some quick numbers on the setlist and they're interesting to say the least. Check it out: MA2-1, AGIB-5, YHF-6, BT-4, ST-1, and new-3. How's that for a varied set? I'm also curious if this marks the first time in the past two years that an album other than "Ghost,"' had the most songs played? I've been a Lucero fan for quite a few years now and have enjoyed many shows. Do you folks think they have peaked in popularity or can they get much bigger?

It was sort of weird how there for awhile about a fourth or third of the setlists were covers. That may be a slight exageration but "Reaper," "Comment," "I Shall Be Released" and "Something In The Air" were all getting played quite a bit. Truth be told, I thought it was a nice mix up to hear something other than the YHF/Ghost dominated sets. Hoping for some more cool covers soon as well as the other 23 new songs they've yet to play live.
