  1. Big Bird (well, the actor anyway)?? edit: or Bob.....someone from Sesame Street
  2. Did you notice there was no mention of Summerteeth? Right from Being There to YHF. What gives? Other than that it was a really good read.
  3. It was Wendy's and I think it was his wife, Susan.
  4. I'm going to be working at a music festival in Moab, UT this coming weekend. Not sure how many VCers are near that part of the country or would be interested. Anyway, it should be a great deal of fun, with awesome red rocks scenery, camping and great music. If anybody's interested: clicky
  5. Definitely longer. I heard a live version a while back (with a long solo) that just blew me away.
  6. Should have read: "How to lose 10 pounds Walken all by yourself." None the less, quite hilarious.
  7. Another, affordable option is using blankets. This seems to dampen sound considerably. A lot of camping stores and sometimes walmart will sell 2" foam pads for camping, which are fairly affordable at ~$10 for 5' x 2' and those make great sound-dampening items.
  8. I think it may be a leslie cabinet. These are commonly used in organs and such. They contain a spinning speaker, which can be sped up or down via a footswitch. I've not used one, nor am I keyboardist but have done sound for a band that uses one -- I think that is how they work.
  9. I have a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro and they're just great. However, I have used them for A LOT of drum tracking, and the right speaker sounds like I may have pushed it...a little too hard. I also use the Shure E3Cs for portability, and they're awesome. Great for plane rides and such as they block out ambient noise very, very well.
  10. Andrew Bird -- Can't go wrong with Mysterious Production of Eggs or Armchair Apocrypha ( M. Ward -- Post War is amazing, as is everything else. The National -- Boxer John Frusciante -- To Record Only Water for ten Days and Shadows Collide With People I think most of those are 'indie' enough
