  1. I do this quite often, too. Yesterday I listened to a decent show from Seattle Center Coliseum on 1983-08-27 - I must admit I always enjoy Little Red Rooster as a song, but not Brent's bit about the hen house and such - it's all a bit too much. Today it's the below - Howard Wales sits in and no Weir and Pigpen.
  2. Just listened to that one over the weekend, again --- came out in 1989. She must have done some stuff since, correct?
  3. Watched Moonrise Kingdom a couple of nights ago - his performance wasn't anything to write home about - the movie overall was flat and dull. Also watched Groundhog Day over the weekend - still great. My sister-in-law was watching it with me and she said didn't like Bill Murray - I shunned her the rest of the weekend.
  4. At times I think IRDB and Hixter are the same poster - which is fine and kinda of cool if you had the time to post the views of what each talking box wants. Perhaps they are both VC's mods creations to stimulate conversation. It's tiresome, though - especially in this thread. Anyway still watching Heartworn Highways and man there is a lot of guns (and whiskey) in the flick and it's fuckin great - so guns can't be that bad, I guess.. The President had a nice speech today - hopefully this whole college thing can be figured out - It's been 16 years since i left school -my parents bared the
  5. Movie is great - the extras are the best. My library system had this - god love em. Steve Earle's performances are really great - it's great to have this early footage. Also John Hiatt.
  6. I don't think Jesse is going to flip. Jesse doesn't like Hank very much - also I seem to remember Saul getting a restraining order against Hank for Jesse, perhaps it has expired or I am wrong about that or perhaps it was just a threat. Can't see Jesse saying anything to the police - he hasn't in the past. I think Todd and the crew he is part of will go after Walt and his family, too. Mean bunch. The whole cover your eyes bit was great, especially the "fire in the hole" directly followed by "sorry about that". Skyler's holding her own pretty well, too.
  7. Good for Ryno - should be interesting when he brings his team to Wrigley in a couple of weeks.
  8. Never seen the below before - 7/4/89 - Los Lobos with Bob and Jerry singing This Land is your Land. I don't think I ever heard Garcia sing a Woody song before, I must be wrong about that, though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1kv1PVb_Oc
  9. KevinG, do you doubt that he ever had cancer or that it's coming back?
  10. Finally caught up to the series and look forward to watching the end of the series, via Amazon instant. The full head of hair, might just mean that Walt stopped taking treatment. The garage scene was indeed great. Hank was perfect.
  11. I thought we are supposed to ask you the questions? Anyway, indifferent - (just like the politician's want it). I did watch Argo for the first time a couple of nights ago - it was good. Hopefully our government is doing great things that no one knows about.
  12. I thought the Big River in the first set was pretty smokin'.
  13. Same here, 68 would be great. 67 would be nice, too. After one listen, the latest 78 release is okay. Need to listen to the 2nd set again.
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_zD1_J5eYs Above is that 4-12-78 show - it's a pretty good one. The U.S Blues is a blast.
  15. It is still streaming on the archive.org, too. It's a different source then the one that popped up on Dime. http://archive.org/details/Wilco2013-08-04
  16. Curious to which versions you have on your mix tapes ---- nice comps.
  17. Made it to the Cline/Parker show tonight - nice evening. Went with the family so I wasn't listening too, too closely, but it sounded good. Also not at all familiar with Paul Bley and John Gilmore’s album The Turning Point, so I have no reference point on how performance compared to the record (this is probably the best review ever written ) At one point Nels did play a nice looking Rickenbacker and while playing one of his Jazzmasters he broke a string, which he replaced while Frank took a drum solo.
  18. Most of the 7.24.87 show in on View from the Vault IV. The dvd also includes 7/26/87, too. From the Dylan/Dead tour http://deaddisc.com/vi/View_4.htm
  19. Speaking of song lyrics: what does Phil Mogg mean when he sings "Seventeen and a nature's queen ya, know what I mean"
  20. The White Sox are on a roll, 3 in row and they are wins for once....god, this season can't get over fast enough - Go Pirates!
  21. Bump for tonight's show. August 8 Jeff Parker-Nels Cline Quartet : The Turning Point Chicago Millenium Park 6:30 pm
  22. You probably don't all the bells and whistles that is offered from Dead.net - though I guess I can be wrong. The documentary shown before the movie at the theater was pretty cool - though I don't need to see it again.
  23. Amazon has the SSDD DVD/CD set a pretty decent price, now. http://www.amazon.com/Sunshine-Daydream-Veneta-3xCD-DVD/dp/B00E34A9FU/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=32TY16BNH7QE8&coliid=I1WV1J4LOS67A6&tag=vglnkc4192-20
  24. "I am a vulgar man! But I assure you, my music is not." One of my all time favorite lines in any movie.
