I just read the NRA opened or will be opening a museum somewhere in Midwest ---- I think they should dedicate it to President Obama - their greatest fundraiser. found the story - it will be in KC http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/08/03/us-usa-guns-museum-idUSBRE97207920130803

Looks like I'll be able to get legal pot soon.

I wonder how they came up with that figure - 2.5 ounces every two weeks - that is a lot of smoke. My mother and father who are both in their 70's and dealt with cancer and its treatment, are all for this - and she hates hippies (with the exception of me and a few of my friends, of course) --- so it seems if my p's supports this, the whole entire country should ---- I am proud of Illinois, though it's about time this measure passed. -
I am not too familiar with Reeves, I do have Cure boot DVD from from a festival they did last year and he played with them --- he definitely did not reel himself in too much at Lolla - he was pretty much all over the place (in a good way) --- the show was perfectly mixed, too (at least from where I was standing - right next to the soundboard). He fit right in --- definitely a lot more 'shredding' then I expected to see at a Cure show. Below is the complete Lolla show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97Ioppd81mY

Just having seeing The Cure this past weekend at Lolla (for the 1st time), I'd put them in the top 50. Great solid show. I would love to see Reeves Gabrel play with Nels Cline, someday. Smith still has a great voice and the rest of are solid as ever.

See - I'm the opposite, married with a 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 year old at home (happily, though) - at times I welcome anything that gets me out of the house for a bit. I still haven't had a chance to listen to the latest pick - but listened to the boot/show plenty of times and always enjoyed it.

I am not sure how many times I would watch the film again - the actual concert footage was great - the filler, if you will, not so much. If they release an audio only, I will get that. Who knows, if they come out with Blue-ray only release, I might get that, too, but I don't need the whole set. I wonder if the essay by Johnny Dwork is going to be the same one in the Taper Book, I assuming Johnny Dwork and John Dwork are the same. Regarding the 12.50, I thought that price was fine --- I treated it as a bit of an event - plus it was playing in theater that I knew had great sound and screen
-
Yeah I saw that - St. Stephen would be cool to hear --- it's no These Boots are Made for Walking, though.
-
Good to be back ---- Saw Sunshine Daydream last week at the theater, very good stuff, plus I ran into an old friend who I haven't saw in over 20 years; he reminded me that I took him to his first Dead show. The sound and footage was great. That being all said, probably will pass on the release, little too expensive. Plus, I did get the latest Dave's pick, but I haven't had a chance to listen it.

Goddammit, one of these times I gonna remember a TRI stream - Warren played the Wolf tonight, i guess. Ole Gary Lambert was on bass, too. Tonight, I happen to watch a DVD of the 10/20/89 show at the Spectrum - Jerry was playing the Wolf.

late 73, right?? Below is a nice write up on the last tour with Keith and Donna by Blair Jackson http://www.dead.net/features/blair-jackson/blairs-golden-road-blog-keith-and-donnas-last-days-dead
-
The movie came out last year - out on DVD on 8/6/13. I usually re-read the book every 10 years or so. I tried getting through the scroll edition a few years back, but put it down for some reason. I did see the original scroll when it passed through Chicago a few years back - it was cool to see.

Never seen that before ---- dick! (just kidding)
-
I never had problem with Donna - sure she was off from time to time, but it was never a major distraction (if I am listening to a show with the wife, she makes me fast forward through her bit during Playin lot's of time or I have I listen to even more wailing).

Do you think Wilco/Jeff Tweedy would ever lip sync??
calvino replied to IRememberDBoon's topic in Just A Fan
Just finished watching a JJ Cale doc. - he refused to go on American Bandstand or some other Dick Clark show in the 70s, because they asked him to lip sync --- he said he was a musician not an actor....his record was on the verge of hitting top ten - it fell off the next week. -

Must admit Beck, on harp, is a bit of a distraction - thanks for posting. -
Just listened to The Road to Escondido last week --- great song writer and player. Anyway the Wind Blows: The Anthology is a great comp. Below is a documentary. ( I never seen it before) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-9x6dRPzgM&feature=player_embedded

Well sometimes Tweedy looks/looked pretty smelly...who wears a jean jacket when it's 95 degrees --- I agree, Dylan's band always looks keen.

Think I would have made choice, too.

I just think they pulled the trigger too soon - it happens a bit. I sure Dead.Net wants to be the first and they are waiting for after the showing.
