Is the ban on Speed Racer so severe, that the Mod's won't even allow her image to appear? (I am sure it's up to Ms.Miller, guess I could be wrong)

Well done! - I would have hoped someone would have.

It was okay - definitely nothing to write home about this time around. LouieB, in another thread, brought up the word "boring", with regards to the last time he saw Son Volt --- I wouldn't call Friday's concert boring (though Dave Bryson, the drummer, looked incredibly bored and in a desperate need of a hug), but at times it left a lot to be desired - plenty of redundancy in the sound of the tunes ---- Jay sounded great, though and Spencer was both great on the keys and pedal steel.

I more curious about Standing O - that would have been fun to hear.

Ripthisjoint908, my choice after Workingman's Dead and American Beauty, would be the below. A good rockin fun.

Keith and MIck did help to pay for Hubert Sumlin's funeral and burial - so I guess there is some type of precedent. I wonder if anyone has reached out to the Stones?

http://www.suntimes.com/entertainment/20579113-421/muddy-waters-family-will-launch-drive-to-fund-repairs-to-his-home.html Another update by Hoekstra - looks like one of Waters' kids will start a Kickstarter campaign.

Since 89 (even back in 81), Jagger has invited guests or current acts to open up for them, who are/were popular at the time - unfortunately, the people who sell lots and lots of records these days - pretty much suck (Ga Ga , Swift, etc...). I agree with Suites - the ticket prices are what sucks, I can deal with a tune with Swift or Ga Ga - actually I thought Ga Ga was kinda fun to watch. I had family members who went to the Monday, Chicago show -- they said that the As Tears Go By with Swift wasn't "too" bad. I was kinda of impressed with the Stones fans - I didn't hear any boo's from the y

I recently listened to The Centrum shor from 1984-10-09. It sounded pretty good.

According to your link (I haven't been following this "Grand Theft" stuff), David Plouffe was the one who tweeted the "Grand Theft" bit, not Carney - Plouffe was backing Jay up. I do have great respect for Plouffe - but you are right here - Plouffe should have taken the high road.
-
His briefings are pretty brutal - not sure why he is still around. Gibbs was great during the briefings (sure he was pompous as hell, but that was good), Carney seems lost a lot of times. Behind the scenes, Carney probably gets along with the press, more so than Gibbs, since he is a former reporter - but I think he should head back to the newsroom. The Press Secretary gig is definitely is a tough one, though.

Will Jeff be the Special Guest for the Stones tonight?
calvino replied to Maghtee's topic in Just A Fan
Maybe, at least now, there is a better chance of them releasing a bunch of $85.00 tickets. -
More press about the house. http://www.suntimes.com/entertainment/20424032-421/muddy-waters-home-rollin-and-crumblin-in-north-kenwood.html

So how's was the show? Looks like you got to see a Can't you hear me Knocking, too. Was offered a Monday ticket, but I passed, proberly will be kicking myself.
-
My pick would be Wilson, too. Pretty straight forward song. If it's a house party and the are requesting Phish, they should be familar with the tune and be able to participate, which might be fun.
-
Definitely! Don't know how to do the dropbox stuff, but would be happy to get the discs. I did participate in some vines last year though the HIttin' the Web site, so I do have some Allmans - when I get home, I will shoot you a PM with what I got and we can set up a trade or something (if I have something that you don't have.)
-
Since I managed, thus far at least, to skip the latest 77 Dead box set - I may end up getting this one. I do not have any live Allman Brothers from this era, either - so it will all be pretty new to me.
-
With regards to the Recovery Act, the below is a nice read.
-
I never listened to Brothers and Sisters all the way through. Looks likes a good set.
-
I saw Beth Orton perform in the late 90's - it was pretty good from what I remember. Cassidy would be a good song choice.
-
Just got the below email - Guess Weir is all good - Great, great news.
-
Really nice version of Throwing Stones on the 10.9.84 show.
-
XM is playing an audience recording from The Centrum on 1984-10-09, only half way through the 1st set - good stuff thus far. 14 sources at the Archive.org - never seen a show with so many sources, before.

Decided to go the Son Volt show ---- it was a very tough call. Still need to make to the Constellation venue.
