I have to be really to be in the mood for it, too --- I don't think the Dead were particularly happy with it, either. The record release item definitively has a better cover then the one I have - I think it's an all orange or something cover - It came as a bonus with on the Golden Road box sets, I believe. Hell, now i am thinking the bonus disc was a completely different set of music - I need to dig out my cd.,,

Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival

No worries - obviously you had other crap on your mind - thanks for your review. -
Definitely on the rack - with the exception of a pizza purchased at 53rd and Woodland - then it goes on a stone. I even converted my mother to the rack. Perhaps a little tin foil on the bottom of the stove to catch any falling objects - don't cover burner holes, though, the pizza doesn't cook right.

I read Keith Richards sat in with Clapton - how did Keith sound, worldrecordplayer? -
Just listen to half of StuStu's recording (nice recording and thanks for uploading -StuStu) of the Asheville show this morning - definitely sounded good. I think I pass on the show with Glen and see Son Volt when the come through Chicago in June. Playing the Park West for $25 - nice price, great venue. And with regards to the Artifacts download - I would recommend it highly - definitely rocking and Jay's sounds great. Decent sounding, too.

Hopefully the kids were out of the room for that rendition.

Just listened to this - it is interesting - never heard him do that before. Maybe, Hunter was there an he wanted to fuck with his lyrics yet again - just to piss him off. Curious what made you pick this show to listen to - overall not very good show. Nice Minglewood, I guess. Picking shows to listen to out all that is available is daunting task - in 24 years or so listening to tapes, it doesn't seem like a I made a dent, which is good, I guess.
-
The quietness of the Japanese audiences is the reason why I usually enjoy tapes that were recorded there - not much audience interference during the songs. Looks like this show just popped up on Bt.Etree.
-
Well at least I caught the last two minutes of Boogie on Reggae Woman - always forget about these sets. It did sound pretty good.
-
Surprised Healy was in possession of anything owned by Garcia - thought that was Parrish, Garcia's estate, or the Dead's territory.
-
Not to nitpick - but I guess I am - Music Hall was the first Vault release (One from the Vault)- Dick's Pick 1 was parts of the the 12/73 Tampa show. I always enjoyed Two from the Vault more than the first (thought the first one is great).

Curious if the show happen, yet. Listening to "Journeyman Ruff Mixes" (boot) - now. This was the last record I bought from Clapton - I think it holds up nicely. I can listen to Running on Faith over and over. I have a bunch of 70's and early 80's boots and enjoy listening to them - he is definitely sloppy on some of them. Just One Night was one of my first cassettes I bought - still a big fan of that set. Also, I am a sucker for Wonderful Tonight. -
I am like a broken record with regards to the 7/19/89 Alpine show - but I second Lammycat regarding the Deal - plus you can purchase the Downhill from Here DVD and see the performance - it's a good one. I am sure it's up on Youtube, too.

I saw the Dylan - passed on it, too, because of the price. Flipped through it and there's nothing really new in it or stuff I haven't seen. Haven't seen the Dead one, yet. My library gets Rolling Stone - but I haven't seen the Dylan issue - perhaps they don't get the special editions.
-
That's good - when I got the Phish tickets, a free subscription to Rolling Stone came with it - be nice if the subscription starts with the Dead issue, some how I doubt it will though. For $24.99 you can get a Garcia (all)Black T-Shirt over at garcia.com - Wow...... You do get a flac of a 1st set Garcia show with Lesh sitting in for Kahn - the only time that he did - that would nice to hear - but not worth the $24.99.

The above is a great shot. -
Before the Flood was one of my first Dylan cd's - I think it has the definite version of It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding). I think there was more coke in the Rollling Thunder years, but 74 is not far behind.

I noticed those footnotes and found it a bit odd, too - but I guess the common reader/fan might not know - which is sad, but it is what is. It's good that the paper wrote "founder". I am going to for tongue pit tickets this Monday. Those aren't worth $600 or whatever they are charging, but I am at least going to try. Doubt I'll get them anyway.

Loosely inspired by nalafej thread about a free Nels Cline concert - a thread for members of Wilco concert performances. Nels and Glenn play out quite a bit, as well as the rest, perhaps having their show dates in one thread would be a benefit - who knows. First up, the below. Happen to come across this by accident. A very welcomed new Chicago venue, Constellation, is opening this month. The wife and I had plans to see Son Volt on the 7th - I think Glen may win over the wife, though - (No offense Jay). http://www.constellation-chicago.com/event/253339-parker-longberg-holm-chicago/ Mi

Since I skipped Vic shows - I guess it's good that they are coming back in August - hopefully ticket prices aren't that bad. Would love to see the Tedeschi Trucks Band, too.

Your musical Road to Damascus moment

1981 - About 9 yrs old - listening to the above record on a daily basis, over and over again - while looking at the album, being amazed by the images and the music. Kiss looked tame compared them. Soon traded off my Kiss records to my cousin for his only Stones record (Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass - another great record to look at while listening). Went all down hill (or up hill) from there. Remember posing in family pictures (much to the chargin of the p's) like a Rolling Stone. -
Listening to WLS (Roe Conn and Richard Roeper) now - Roe just announced that Roger Ebert passed away - today. Listening to Roeper (TV partner/co-worker with Ebert) is pretty brutal - he is keeping together, though. Sucks. Tyler Flowers - MVP MVP MVP MVP So far, so good - Sale and Peavey, looked great as well as the bullpen. Horrible in the field today, though.

For those who are visiting this summer, below is a link to the free 2013 summer concerts at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion.
