  1. OK, not sure what I did - but you're welcome!!!
  2. Like I said, really looking forward to seeing this show at Toyota Park - grabbed 2 GA pit tickets. Only way I would want to see the show and I got lucky.

  4. In 97 or so I saw Dylan play the Dan and Ada Rice Center at Benedicitne Univ. in Lisle, IL - my high school gym was only a little bit smaller than it. The boosters were selling cups of orange punch on folding tables for refreshments for dollar. It was a very odd venue, but great show. Yeah - he plays anywhere that will take him.
  5. I always thought I'd like to have a beer with Dylan. I agree though, if I was Dylan, I would want to stay away from the freak fans, too. Going to catch Dylan this Thursday in Champaign IL - decided yesterday to take a night trek to the show. Anyway, like Wilco, every time I see Dylan I say, okay that's enough of seeing him live, but I always break down and see him again.
  6. I am thinking of passing, too - Wilco and Dylan are my favorites - but seeing them at Toyota Park (Chicago-area) is not appealing - wish they would have stuck with the ballparks. Anybody seen if kid's under a certain age are free, (typical to the ballpark shows) - I haven't seen such info. The length of the sets is not really an issue, though - just location, location, location.
  7. I just heard on Tales on the Golden Road Radio show that Weir is going to take Weir Here on the road (towards the end of the year). Below is a link to the Tales' shows, in case you do not have XM/Sirius. Weir talks about it on the 4.21.13 show. http://www.talesfromthegoldenroad.com/
  8. Just watched their version of Jumping Jack Flash - I like it quite a bit. Nice solos by both Rich and Jackie.
  9. Bah! - the newly expanded Charter One would have been a much better choice. Nice line up, though -- MMJ doesn't do much for me, though - seen them twice, they were okay.
  10. Well, they only person (that I am aware of) who was let go, was the SUV driver who was carjacked - I assumed he wasn't armed. I am also assuming that the MIT security person who was killed was armed or and had some sort of weapon (could be wrong though). I do understand your sentiment, though. I don't share it, though.
  11. I did hear that their openers are fed well and get plenty of refreshments, though.
  12. With all due respect to armed services - I know three young people (18-19 year old men) who recently joined the service because of the net that is provided - they know the risks, of course. Patriotism is playing a part in their decision, but it was not the main reason.
  13. I read the same thing on the Steve Hoffman board, last week or so.
  14. Well, Jules said "they" were stupid - Some people may be underwater on their mortgage - lost their job and can't unload their house, add on credit cards, school loans, car payments, etc......."It's hard times for an honest man".
  15. It's just statements like the above that makes my eyes roll --- I come from a long line of Cub's fans - my father and grandfather, oddly both born and raised on the south-side are/were diehard Cub fans - so I get it. I am Sox fan, but I not the type of Sox fan who hates the Cubs - I wish them the best - but they always seem to come up with some excuse. An aside - for the longest time I always thought my dad was a Sox fan, because he only took us to Sox games (70's), though we watched and listened to both teams. One day I asked if he was more of a Cubs fan than a Sox fan - he told me he was
  16. Maybe, a little bit, but what else would explain 5 wild pitches in an inning, by two different pitchers. The whole renovation thing has been tedious. The Cubs should do what they want with their product/park, but I think they should focus a little more on their actual team.
  17. They were playing the Cubs - a batter simply walking to the plate, throws them off. Of course, now, renovations to Wrigley will rectify that all, just like finally getting lights, did.
  18. Allmusic link below: http://www.allmusic.com/album/grateful-dead-documentary-mw0001199762
  19. To settle my confusion in my muddled mind - I just grabbed the "orange covered" cd that I was talking about - it is a Grateful Dead documentary - a few interviews from 1968 - I believe this disc came as a bonus with the Golden Road box set. Birth of the Dead is actually part of the box.
  20. (Rare Cuts) Completely different - not sure why I assumed the were they were the same set. Looks kinda of interesting - wouldn't mind hearing an early Big Railroad Blues, also a nice somewhat long version of Empty Heart might be fun, too. The Dead should have pulled out their cover of "Gangster of Love" when Steve Miller was opening some shows in 92.
  21. I have to be really to be in the mood for it, too --- I don't think the Dead were particularly happy with it, either. The record release item definitively has a better cover then the one I have - I think it's an all orange or something cover - It came as a bonus with on the Golden Road box sets, I believe. Hell, now i am thinking the bonus disc was a completely different set of music - I need to dig out my cd.,,
  22. No worries - obviously you had other crap on your mind - thanks for your review.
  23. Definitely on the rack - with the exception of a pizza purchased at 53rd and Woodland - then it goes on a stone. I even converted my mother to the rack. Perhaps a little tin foil on the bottom of the stove to catch any falling objects - don't cover burner holes, though, the pizza doesn't cook right.
  24. I read Keith Richards sat in with Clapton - how did Keith sound, worldrecordplayer?
  25. Just listen to half of StuStu's recording (nice recording and thanks for uploading -StuStu) of the Asheville show this morning - definitely sounded good. I think I pass on the show with Glen and see Son Volt when the come through Chicago in June. Playing the Park West for $25 - nice price, great venue. And with regards to the Artifacts download - I would recommend it highly - definitely rocking and Jay's sounds great. Decent sounding, too.
