Listened to 7/2 today - really nice. Looking forward to 7/3 - thanks for the heads-up.

How was the show with Wylde? I never had the opportunity to listen to it.
-
I never realized that Nelson band played with Phil, either - also didn't know Kreutzmann ever played with Phil's solo band. I couldn't find a seeding torrant of 7/2/99 or 7/3/99, but they both are up at Archive.

I imagine those tickets were not cheap, either - excessive talkers never cease to amaze me.

Lou - the link to the stream of the album that A-man posted is still going. http://www.americansongwriter.com/2013/02/stream-son-volts-new-album-honky-tonk/

Johnny Marr to release The Messenger, solo album
calvino replied to Kim Bodnia's topic in Someone Else's Song
That was pretty damn good. -
That's what I was thinking, too. Hopefully it won't be only a $100 record only release of sorts.

I didn't see any of the San Fran. shows listed, yet. I never did purchase a show from the web (including any of the Wilco releases) - I like the concept, perhaps one day I purchase one.

Petty's XM/Sirius radio show is very good. That 4 disc live set that Lammycat mentioned is very good, also it is very nicely priced, too.

Below is the Jambase link - Casal got some flack for it by "deadicated" Garcia fans - which is a bit weird for me - their perspective was that Casal wasn't worthy of playing Jerry's guitar. http://www.jambands.com/news/2012/12/13/neal-casal-plays-garcia-s-wolf-guitar-with-chris-robinson-brotherhood

Has anybody found or heard the CRB show from the Dec-2012 run in San Francisco, where Casal played Garcia' s Wolf guitar - I haven't seen it pop up yet. I believe it was the 12/12/12 show.
-
My first show was in 94 - The Allman Brothers played on 6/22 at the World and the Dead played on the 23rd and 24th at Soldier Field - great three days. The Allman Brothers show was far better than the two Dead shows.

As does Mr. Betts live on - I think it's pretty safe to say that Gregg and Richards have tapered their intake to near nothing - I am not sure Dickey can say the same, but I can be wrong about that.
-
Regarding Toler - saw this on another board - never saw it before. I am not too familiar with Toler's stint with the Allman Brothers. Below: Greg Allman & Dickey Betts studio jam - 1982 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=snSlZzzcRDI

Think positive, Moss - you may record a hit song and your kid's college fund will be set.

Speaking of Weir - he really plays nicely and is up in the mix in Dave's Pick 5 - only halfway through it - so far very good stuff. Regarding Desolated Row - always loved how Weir mixed up the "Was that some kind of joke" line - sometimes anger, other times whimsical.

Well that was a blast listening to the above version - I agree, Sugar Magnolia could have been played at every show and I would have be fine with that, too ---- of course on Saturday's they could have dropped it for One More Saturday Night. Feel Like A Stranger is another favorite of mine.

Ribot plays with them (MMW) from time to time. So far, the line up does look great - wish I was heading there....
-
Thanks for the link. Because I have a lot of the songs, I probably will take a pass on purchasing it, though.

Drove by the house yesterday - sat in front of it with my sleeping daughter for a while and it was depressing as hell. Definitely lots (new construction/rehabbing) going on in that area, so I can see why developers are chopping at the bit for it, especially since it has a half of lot right next to it, which I am sure is part of the parcel. That Red X on the front of it looks ominous as hell. The Hadiya Pendleton shooting happen just blocks away, which made even more depressing...

I blame torrents for the demise of the post office. I don't think I will miss Sat. service - I believe they still will deliver packages and express mail on Saturdays, also.

For what it's worth, I emailed Burns (4th Ward) and Hairston (5th Ward), voicing my support of preserving the home.

This past summer I signed up for a couple of vines on Hittin' the Web - oddly enough, it was the first time that ever I dealt with vines. I got the entire 2009 Beacon run, the entire 2005 Radio City run, and 4 shows from 96 (2-Chicago/Riv. shows - Toronto, and Cleveland.) I do wish they allowed the shows to be shared, via on-line, but it wasn't too bad dealing with vines, I guess. This thread was started (by you) during the 2009 Beacon run - listening to 3/27/09 today - their version of Can't You See with Kid Rock was pretty damn good. 3/12/09, with Guy, Anastasio, and McConnell is next up

Presently listening to the below - very loudly, of course. Great set.
