  1. Well, that didn't take long. http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/nationals/ozzie-guillen-fired-as-marlins-manager-after-1-dismal-season-with-team/2012/10/23/68d3360e-1d4c-11e2-8817-41b9a7aaabc7_story.html
  2. Whole album (including album cover) can be a bit scary.
  3. I wasn't familiar with Station Man before I heard in on Rich's record - great, great tune. I haven't listened to his latest CD in a while, need to dig it out. I did go to a Best Buy (looking for the Gov't Mule box set, without any luck) and saw Chris's latest cd, but I didn't buy it. Totally flaked out on CRB's two Chicago shows last month or so - heard the tapes and thought they sounded good.
  4. I always hear "I got you an Atari"
  5. Perhaps it was a bit too snotty. I thought what he said after it was more potent.
  6. That was alright - looked like a Guitar Center acoustic guitar room on the stage.
  7. When I saw them in Chicago, I enjoyed Walk Like A Giant, quite a bit - definitely a "different" type of song. Were the people booing insufferable or the song?
  8. Speaking of the Recovery, I am about finished with the above book. Informative and well written. He writes about all the successes and failures. Did bring up a lot of bad memories, though. Nice interview with author below. http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/interrogation/2012/08/the_new_new_deal_a_book_argues_that_president_obama_s_stimulus_has_been_an_astonishing_success.html
  9. That's cool. We need more people moving into the city. Welcome.
  10. The President would - but the Governor's boys would beat him up afterwards, then Michelle would kick all their asses and Mrs Romney will then ride off on her horse.
  11. Hey, I don't like it either, but it's politics and politics is about winning the message at the end of the day. All I am saying is that this Libya issues isn't going away. When it happen, I actually donated some more money to Obama because I figured he was going to need it. Sure, I was thinking of the 4 who died in the attack, but I also was thinking about the campaign - I was making it into a political issue myself. It's a "big f-ing deal" as the Vice President once said about another issue. I don't think making the death of 4 Americans into a political hot potato is necessarily right, b
  12. This morning on XM's P.O.T.U.S., the Republicans were still winning. I think it will not sink the President - I am weary of the issue, though.
  13. Kinda surprised the new one is not on the list.
  14. Thanks for the link - on the Libya issue Republicans are winning on the message in the media (and not just on FOX) and in a election that's all that matters - regardless of the actual facts.
  15. Between records and cd's, I'm pretty sure I have them all, with the exception of Love you Live - I had that on 8-track and never purchased the cd or record. I should get it some day, at least for the El Mocambo side, though I have a decent sounding boot of the El Mocambo show.
  16. I agree with Jules - Libya is going to be an issue up until the election. The Governor is not going to let it go and I guess I don't blame him. I do think the President handled the Libya issue nicely last night, but the President's team message since the attack has been muddled and poorly played out.
  17. I just heard Waiting on a Friend on the way to work and was thinking how great the intro and outro of the song is - it is a great tune and video. It's Only Rock n Roll is one of the few Stones records that I don't have cd, so I haven't listen to it in a long while. Also I enjoy Black and Blue quite a bit - Melody gets tiresome, though. For some reason I always like the record gate fold (both the outside and inside picture). Plus I always thought the below was cool.
  18. I was at the above show - it was a nice song. The video doesn't give the "singer" justice - she was kinda of hot. Glad I was able to see a song debut. The whole stage set up - roadies, etc. - was fun - very thematic. A bunch of old guys walking around with computer tablets trying to coordinate every thing.
  19. What site are you guys talking about - if you don't mind me asking - thanks.
  20. Caught them last night in Chicago - great show. Got there about an 1/2 hour after the doors open and was about 15' back/dead center, which as great. All the new songs played sounded great - Ramada Inn perhaps was the weakest of the bunch, but still a good song none the less. He resurrected the Rust Never Sleeps stage setup theme, which was fun to see. Los Lobos's set was equally as great. Definitely kinda of a Dead theme in there set - they played a verse of Love Light, Not Fade Away, and Bertha. They gave a nice shout out to WXRT for playing their music over the years before they played I
  21. Okay I concede Ryan isn't a dick wad for saying what he said about Hamilton - Shakespeare put forth a much better response. I haven't use the term "dick wad" in about 25 or 30 years - it was kinda fun.
  22. Not trying to be a shock jock - I think it's dickish thing to say when someone is trying quit a bad habit. Hamilton battles addiction everyday, anyway. He wanted to quit another addiction, good for him. Being a dick is one of Ryan charming qualities.
  23. Neil Young/Crazy Horse with Los Lobos.
  24. Okay - mystery solved - thanks. Still think they should have mentioned the omission on the Roadcase release page. No real biggie, though.
