  1. http://www.suntimes.com/news/obituaries/16023457-418/largely-overlooked-chicago-singer-songwriter-terry-callier-dies-at-67.html Dave Hoekstra wrote about his death on the 28th - must admit I never heard of him. Headline:
  2. https://www.youtube....h?v=9Py2YZPPWc4 "No Show Jones" Hopefully, it just a simple upper respiratory infection illness...
  3. Good point - the sound on the 78 release is a lot better.
  4. Plus being a millionaire helps, too. He does a little worse for wear, but I guess I could care less how he looks, as long as his fingers and brain can still work together.
  5. It is a great show - I think I enjoy it more than the Ladies and Gentlemen release.
  6. The last couple of weeks I also has been using the site to listen to some of the "laptop" era shows - I haven't notice any hiccups while streaming - though I haven't been on the site this week. Anyway thanks for the site, tommyjacobs.
  7. Well Mitt has his "right" to ignore it - but words and policy matter - hopefully people will react with emotion by going out to vote against his policies, proposals, and words. Like the event that happen in Libya, while a tragedy, President Obama needed and needs to answer for it in the political arena (and I think he has), likewise Romney should with his views on federal relief. It's a bit of a shame that there is not another debate, I would like to the Governor's response. Hopefully the press and perhaps other democratic politicians (like McCain pounding the President on Libya) gets a resp
  8. Obama will get 50.3% and 281 electoral votes. CNN has nice page where you can f around with the Electoral Map. http://www.cnn.com/E...2/ecalculator#_
  9. I am sucker for his 70's output - below is a great comp focusing on it.
  10. I have the below - great comp. Some of my earliest memories is playing nickel/quarter poker with my family and close family friends at their summer cottage in Indiana while listening to cassettes of George Jones. The Essential George Jones: The Spirit of Country
  11. Never was a big fan of that Keane College show - do not enjoy the keyboards.
  12. I think I got a paper copy last year. 70 shows are some of my favorites.
  13. Can't remember if they said they were not sending out a physical copy of the Almanac, kinda hope they continue to send them out. The web/email format is a bit cumbersome to read.
  14. I just finished watching that video - It's great that the cache include 69 and 70 shows. I think I may subscribe this time around - the Dave's Pick 5 seems like a winner. I only purchased 1 of the 4 last time, though. Meant to get DIck's Pick 4, but waited to long - which I guess is no biggie.
  15. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/inside-the-rolling-stones-reunion-20121024 Rolling Stone has an article about the shows - the headline reads "Reunion" - is it really an actual reunion? Perhaps so, if Wyman and Taylor participate, I don't know. The concerts itself doesn't seem like a reunion to me, I don't think they ever disbanded.
  16. Yeah I read the above this morning - good news. Looking forward to the pay-per-view.
  17. I forgot that I had It's Only Rock 'n Roll on my hard drive. Not sure what mastering/version I have, but I forgot how nice it sounded on head phones, especially through my home system. Nicky Hopkins plays his ass off throughout. The Glimmer Twins did a nice job producing, also. The sequence of If You Really Want to be my Friend into Short and Curlies is great.
  18. Well, that didn't take long. http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/nationals/ozzie-guillen-fired-as-marlins-manager-after-1-dismal-season-with-team/2012/10/23/68d3360e-1d4c-11e2-8817-41b9a7aaabc7_story.html
  19. Whole album (including album cover) can be a bit scary.
  20. I wasn't familiar with Station Man before I heard in on Rich's record - great, great tune. I haven't listened to his latest CD in a while, need to dig it out. I did go to a Best Buy (looking for the Gov't Mule box set, without any luck) and saw Chris's latest cd, but I didn't buy it. Totally flaked out on CRB's two Chicago shows last month or so - heard the tapes and thought they sounded good.
  21. I always hear "I got you an Atari"
  22. Perhaps it was a bit too snotty. I thought what he said after it was more potent.
  23. That was alright - looked like a Guitar Center acoustic guitar room on the stage.
