  1. I think Stewart was always "on-stage" when he played - tucked in the piano section, but clearly visible --- He may have not have been introduced all the time, but I think that his own doings - he did not want to be introduced.
  2. As I wrote Blondie Chaplin plays off stage (at times) - also it has been mentioned that Pierre De Beauport (Keith's guitar tech) plays at times --- I have never "seen" that - I know Pierre is credited on some studio records as "guitar player". And like Jules - I spotted Blondie behind the piano riser at the United Center. Also good point, Bosco, regarding Bralove - I thought of him earlier. I always thought Healy just like f'ing with Weir vocals and that's it.
  3. It's up on their website, too --- that's a bummer. http://furthur.net/
  4. Blondie Chaplin plays (or at least use to) guitar quite a bit off stage with the Stones. Chaplin is introduced as a singer and does sometimes play on stage with his guitar, but at times when he is playing guitar, he is off stage, or behind the piano riser. I am not a big fan of this type of set up, either.
  5. Yeah an "aw-shucks". Glad it all appears to be okay. Looking forward to the next Dave's Pick installment - haven't gotten a shipping email, yet. Lastly, happy 4/29/71 - my first tape (I believe). (oddly enough, my 13th wedding aniversy, too).
  6. 7. New York Times has a very good obit. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/27/arts/music/george-jones-country-singer-dies-at-81.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0
  8. Ok, maybe you can take a break for that. I did read that Weir left in a ambulance. And yes, Lammy - he definitely is a busy dude. Gans always says he got (kids) college tuitions to pay off.
  9. Didn't Bobby have a similar episode last year or so? Wish him the best. And yes - gotta keep playing no matter what.
  10. My earliest musical memories are of George Jones. He had a good run - kinda surprised he lived so long - hell of life.
  11. That was rough. I thought I had a bad night last night....
  12. Think you going be happy - Weir has been added to the Tampa bill..... Weir is only playing the first few shows. Too bad only the first few. Everybody better be quiet while he's playing, too.
  13. I think he has a couple of them - the suit and guitar is part of a Midwest Rock & Roll exhibit. I think there is more info in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame thread. http://viachicago.org/topic/38353-rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame/
  14. OK, not sure what I did - but you're welcome!!!
  15. Like I said, really looking forward to seeing this show at Toyota Park - grabbed 2 GA pit tickets. Only way I would want to see the show and I got lucky.

  17. In 97 or so I saw Dylan play the Dan and Ada Rice Center at Benedicitne Univ. in Lisle, IL - my high school gym was only a little bit smaller than it. The boosters were selling cups of orange punch on folding tables for refreshments for dollar. It was a very odd venue, but great show. Yeah - he plays anywhere that will take him.
  18. I always thought I'd like to have a beer with Dylan. I agree though, if I was Dylan, I would want to stay away from the freak fans, too. Going to catch Dylan this Thursday in Champaign IL - decided yesterday to take a night trek to the show. Anyway, like Wilco, every time I see Dylan I say, okay that's enough of seeing him live, but I always break down and see him again.
  19. I am thinking of passing, too - Wilco and Dylan are my favorites - but seeing them at Toyota Park (Chicago-area) is not appealing - wish they would have stuck with the ballparks. Anybody seen if kid's under a certain age are free, (typical to the ballpark shows) - I haven't seen such info. The length of the sets is not really an issue, though - just location, location, location.
  20. I just heard on Tales on the Golden Road Radio show that Weir is going to take Weir Here on the road (towards the end of the year). Below is a link to the Tales' shows, in case you do not have XM/Sirius. Weir talks about it on the 4.21.13 show. http://www.talesfromthegoldenroad.com/
  21. Just watched their version of Jumping Jack Flash - I like it quite a bit. Nice solos by both Rich and Jackie.
  22. Bah! - the newly expanded Charter One would have been a much better choice. Nice line up, though -- MMJ doesn't do much for me, though - seen them twice, they were okay.
  23. Well, they only person (that I am aware of) who was let go, was the SUV driver who was carjacked - I assumed he wasn't armed. I am also assuming that the MIT security person who was killed was armed or and had some sort of weapon (could be wrong though). I do understand your sentiment, though. I don't share it, though.
  24. I did hear that their openers are fed well and get plenty of refreshments, though.
  25. With all due respect to armed services - I know three young people (18-19 year old men) who recently joined the service because of the net that is provided - they know the risks, of course. Patriotism is playing a part in their decision, but it was not the main reason.
