  1. Since I skipped Vic shows - I guess it's good that they are coming back in August - hopefully ticket prices aren't that bad. Would love to see the Tedeschi Trucks Band, too.
  2. 1981 - About 9 yrs old - listening to the above record on a daily basis, over and over again - while looking at the album, being amazed by the images and the music. Kiss looked tame compared them. Soon traded off my Kiss records to my cousin for his only Stones record (Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass - another great record to look at while listening). Went all down hill (or up hill) from there. Remember posing in family pictures (much to the chargin of the p's) like a Rolling Stone.
  3. Listening to WLS (Roe Conn and Richard Roeper) now - Roe just announced that Roger Ebert passed away - today. Listening to Roeper (TV partner/co-worker with Ebert) is pretty brutal - he is keeping together, though. Sucks. 4. Tyler Flowers - MVP MVP MVP MVP So far, so good - Sale and Peavey, looked great as well as the bullpen. Horrible in the field today, though.
  5. For those who are visiting this summer, below is a link to the free 2013 summer concerts at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. For the Wilco peeps - Nels will play on August 8th and Glenn on August 28th - plus plenty of other great shows. http://timeoutchicago.com/music-nightlife/audio-file-blog/16178761/millennium-park-summer-concert-series-announced
  6. Haven't seen them since 98, so I figured I make up for lost time - pulled a 3 day pass for the Chicago shows. I am bit bummed that the city is expanding the venue (Charter One on Northerly Island) - hopefully, they do a good job.
  7. I believe it is - Beautiful guitars.
  8. Rich is playing a great looking guitar --- I did not even see Jackie in the footage.
  9. Listened to a few of the songs from 3/23 - it's okay - the only tune that stuck with me as really good was the Hard to Handle into Hush - it appeared the recording/sound got better as the show progressed. By Your Side sounded good, too - always liked that tune.
  10. I am presently reading Richard Ford's Rock Springs - great book of short stories.
  11. Me too - I'll download it tonight. I passed on Chicago tickets.
  12. Looks like it's already up on B-etree - that's good.
  13. Always like that pic on that Rocks Off book.
  14. http://roadiebootcamp.com/About_Us.html Gotta love Google -- i guess he started a roadie boot camp, that's cool. Perhaps some day we all can learn how to become a "favorite roadie"
  15. What ever happen to Jonathan Parker ("JP") - since he left Wilco? He was fun, though I never did like his/Wilco's rendition of Immigrant Song.
  16. One I have seen listed: Han Bennink - great to listened to - even better to see him perform.
  17. And arranging the strings for the Stones' She's A Rainbow (#25 in the states)
  18. But is Ted really a "musician"? (I kid, I kid - God love em)
  19. There is Gimme Shelter. I have seen them on every tour since 89, with the exception of the Bigger Bang tour. It's a spectacle more than a concert - but it's fun. Since they play in large stadiums/arenas - the sound is not always that greates . The closest I ever was to the stage was about 20 rows/center in 89 - the other times it seemed liked they were miles away. I read they were going out again - I guess it depends on the costs if I see them again - I thought they sounded okay in the December pay-per-view. That being all said - I listened to their studio a lot more than their live stuf
  20. I love Ya-ya's but I prefer the studio Sympathy, also. uncool2pillow - have you listened to Stripped? I think they sound great on it, esp. Jagger - I guess parts of it are pretty much "live in the studio". The Stones definitely can sound like a mess on stage at times, but when they are on they're great. I think the official live 78 Texas release is great.
  21. Drovers use to play down in Carbondale in the early 90s quite a bit - always a fun show.
