  1. That was a great show - enjoy watching the repeats on one of the ESPN channels. Are you embarrassed that you are watching the show or watching it on your Kindle?
  2. He striking out a lot, still - but at least he's hitting the homers and has the RBI's - still a lot of room for improvement, though - but much better than 2011. They need to start winning the close games. I guess they are 5th with runs scored - pretty good, I guess - but again a lot room for the timely RBI.
  3. Well, they are good enough for the Central.
  4. Lillibridge made a hell of catch yesterday - but he is having horrible year hitting. Good trade for the White Sox - they are back in first, too.
  5. With this immigration policy I don't think President Obama is changing his stance (or pandering) on immigration. Is he bringing it up now to get votes - sure - it's his job to get as many votes he can get so he can elected - it's the game of democracy. But if the President hasn't changed his view on immigration with this action - how is it pandering? I do support Obama's action - wish the President's administration and Congress would get off their hands and actually do more...
  6. Okay - got it, now (little slow this morning) - I thought of that after I posted my last comment.
  7. Well, I don't get it, A-Man.....but I do enjoy his videos, too.
  8. It's looks like it may be already sold out. Hopefully it just a computer glitch - but who knows. It would have been great to see them at the Auditorium. I had the 21st show but not the 22nd, until I grabbed it last night off of etree. http://www.dead.net/...-picks-volume-3
  9. nalafej - did he draw a good crowd?
  10. Did you make it to the show last night? I didn't make it up there.
  11. Honestly, I take pretty much anything Jules says as condescending - it his M.O. I didn't take it as be condescending against employees, but to the President, while others may have thought it was towards employees. But like I wrote in my first post regarding his hiring comment - it's a good thing, whether they be temporary positions or permanent. We hired two guys this week - unfortunately they probably will be temporary - but it's a start. I am in the trades (HVAC). I don't expect a visit from the President, though.
  12. http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/music/turnitup/ct-ae-0617-billy-corgan-20120615,0,3227226,full.column Nice interview with Greg Kot.
  13. Jules said the above - I believe it was taken by some as being condescending. Actually Jules should contact his congressman and he just might get that visit - though I have a feeling his business is not in a Democratic district - so the district may not want to advertise the 100 hires ----- I could be completely wrong about that though - my point is, if you want the President to notice - write your Congressman. Jules standing next to the President would be a great picture.
  14. Even though he is a commie pinko, LouieB is a great person to share a concert experience with - wouldn't have met him, if it wasn't for this board. Him liking jazz is a great plus, too.
  15. http://www.cbs.com/l...fault&play=true From yesterday on Late Night with Letterman. Good stuff - I enjoy Elizabeth Cook's radio show, as well as her music - she sounds cool on her radio show and looks hot as hell.
  16. Well Rogers just played Bonnaroo - or at least he sat in with Phish and performed The Gambler - so a bunch of stinky hippies may start showing up at his shows.
  17. That's cool - I didn't know that. Does he talk about what he was doing between 71-75 and how he supported himself, ie was he on the Dead payroll still ---- I guess I should read the book...
  18. He has a few books out about drums and percussion instruments - I don't think he ever put out an straight forward auto-bio, though. I haven't read any of them.
  19. I don't know crap about dyslexia, but perhaps Weir still is hindered from it a bit, thus writing a book may be a bit of challenge. Plus, he always forgets the words of songs, can't imagine him dealing with a book . (but of course you're right, eventually he will probably put one out)
  20. http://music.yahoo.c...-140934928.html Just came across this bit of news - hopefully it is better than Phil's. Billy always seemed to bit of a brute, especially in his younger days - could translate into a good book. Now watching View from the Vault II June 14, 1991 - nice show (plus it put my kids to sleep after the first song - which makes for a very peaceful afternoon)
  21. He was a messed up dude - his appearances on Stern were always a mess.
  22. Of course we all know you met here Full disclosure: I pledged a $100 to Obama camp today - been getting calls for the last couple months and finally bit the bullet. I donated a bit and volunteered in '08 - must admit my enthusiasm has waned, now it's more to keep Romney out of the office. I suppose I can say I have been disappointed with Obama, though it is impossible to govern when there is no compromising going on (though I think there has been more of it from Obama - perhaps too much, but then absolutely nothing would have happen.) Hopefully in his 2nd term the Congress and the Pr
  23. Not sure why Jules would lie about it - he proves Obama policies are working and that Obama is the best job creator since Jules' last favorite President - Clinton. Another vote for Obama in November - way to go Jules ---- seriously, though, it's great that the 100 were hired.
  24. How did you like the Tinley venue - I haven't been there since the late 90s. I heard they did some renovations to improve the sound - I am curious to know if the sound has indeed improved - thanks.
