Hope you are all relaxing & enjoying Memorial Day!

Nice, relaxing day on Monday after two days of constant go. Wanted to make to see Hogan's set with the family, but figured a nice quiet evening would be best. How was the crowd last night, Lou, hopefully the hot weather did not deter people - Greg Kot had a nice piece on Hogan last week. -
http://viachicago.or...e-grateful-dead I did a search on Tangled up in Blue for some reason or other this afternoon and the above thread popped up - it's been a fun read thus far. Is this the Dead thread that "the Man" locked, thus creating the 1st Grateful Dead link at the beginning of this thread? There are some great lists of best shows in the thread --- I always enjoy reading those...

Go, go White Sox! Nice sweep this weekend.

I am not sure if Romney is going to talk much about his MA days - health care will be tossed back in his lap - plus he was only a governor for one term and half that term he was planning his 2008 Presidential run.

I just listened to Steve's record "Townes" this morning, again - Steve and Justin sure do sound great together.

Winterland - thanks for posting the video - fun to hear Gans and watch Garcia reaction to him during the Hear Comes Sunshine bit. I heard this interview before but never saw it.

http://www.pbs.org/wnet/tavissmiley/interviews/musician-greg-allman/ Tavis Smiley and Gregg - it starts off bit slow but overall it's a nice interview.

Yes - the Mono box sounds great - esp. JWH. The whole packaging is good, too. Dylan turns 71 today.

Electric Funeral is such a great song. I guess they are doing Seventh Son - that was the last tape I bought of there's, Alice Cooper is opening up the Chicago date, but they are playing a venue that I don't care for, so I will probably won't go, plus I am not fond of that album. Did you catch Adrian Smith on the Metal Show - it was ok. Eddie Trunk kinda annoys me, though - I don't watch it very often (i don't have the channel), but he never seems to get any of the questions right during the Stump the Trunk or whatever they call it.

Finally listened to a few songs from the Dime boot, today - they sound pretty good, esp. (surprisingly) Ozzy. I think if the situation is figured out and Ward joins back up, I probably will see them a Lolla in Chicago this summer - I am still kicking myself that I never gotten around to see Heaven and Hell or Sabbath with Dio. Still need to see Maiden one day, too.

That sounds right.

I wonder if actually drug testing the players is a cause of more injuries. Like Jules, I am not sure the list is more than normal or not.

Question About Scott McMicken From Dr. Dog
calvino replied to A.Clutter's topic in Someone Else's Song
I read there is no such thing a bisexual. -
Thayer definitely has an annoying demeanor - which good I guess for his line of work. I have enjoyed his interviews the months leading up to the summit. It's a nice gesture by Reinsdorf (the cynic in me sees some type of tax break for the organization in the future, though, but better them than the Cubs ).

The White Sox are giving every police officer two tickets for their service during the NATO summit. I think it would have been cool if they gave some to some of the demonstration organizers, too (Even to Andy Thayer - though I think Andy would choose to sit at the other end of the park). http://www.chicagotr...0,2833221.story Now if White Sox could start beating the Twins, that would be great, too.....

Okay, perhaps I shouldn't admit to this, but when I read this I thought "That's where I heard that song before!" Big Star is on that list of bands (which is getting a little too long) that I haven't delved into, yet. John did sound great, singing.

Finally gotten around and bought Knocked out Loaded and Down in the Groove - Loaded is pretty much crap, love the title of the record though. I enjoy Down in the Groove, though. Definitely not anywhere near his best, but I enjoy listening to each track. Also found the Japan cd singles of Not Dark Yet and Things Have Changed. Each of the discs has 3 additional live songs. Tears of Rage on the Not Dark Yet disc and HIghlands on the Things Have Changed are the highlights. Best part is that I paid $4.99 for and $5.99 for the other, I see they are going for a bit more in the marketplace. I real

Jagger with Arcade Fire and Foo Fighters
calvino replied to Sweet Papa Crimbo's topic in Someone Else's Song
That was great, Beck is the best - I can watch and listen to Tal Wilkenfeld all day - she makes the goofiest faces. I though Jagger sounded good, too. He should have performed that song at the White House a couple of months back. -

That's Keith's criticism of many rock groups, too. I think he made that comment about Nirvana in the early 90s. I haven't gotten around to watch any of the performances, yet.
