Jeez - you would compare the above video to Touch of Grey - yikes. I guess I never thought of Touch of Grey as "going for the 80s sound".

As Rick Talander wrote in today's column: Guillen said that he loved Castro in 2008. Perhaps Miami (and the group protesting the Marlins, now) should have done a bit of research, before hiring him. I bet Guillen will be on the back page of the Chicago Sun-Times more often this year then the White Sox. I imagine, soon enough, the people of Miami will just learn to roll their eyes at anything that comes out of his mouth. I am not of supporter of the Castro regime - but I don't think he should have been suspended (though I completely understand why he had to be suspended). I would be more pis

Well I thought I thought Guillen would have made it through at least one series before he got in trouble. Guillen gets a 5-game suspension for Castro comments - he should have added "and his beard" after his "I love Fidel Castro" comment, perhaps then he could have found a way to wiggle, wiggle out of his comment. http://www.chicagotr...0,1627106.story Happy that the White Sox are 2-2, thus far.

Top 3 All Time Underrated things on music earth

I can go with those top two (never heard of the third). I like Self Portrait quite a bit. -
Jim Marshall (Marshall amps) RIP
calvino replied to Ghost of Electricity's topic in Someone Else's Song
When I moved into my freshman dorm, a dude had a massive Marshall stack along the wall of his tiny dorm room, with a Gibson Flying-V always leaning up against it. He dropped out before years end - but it was fun as hell playing his gear. They only time I played through a Marshall. -
Yeah, I looked the song up and noticed that - I have 2 1/2 old kid, hence the "I imagine I will hear the original someday soon."

listening to Rockpalast 2011, and for the first time...
calvino replied to IRememberDBoon's topic in Just A Fan
Google: wilco rockpalast 2011 - you will find the links. -
En espaƱol, por favor. (Something my Spanish teacher always said when I swore in class) Got through disc one of the East LA set - fun listen. Really enjoyed I Wanna Be Like You (The Monkey Song) - the baritone sounds great. I am not familiar with the original - I imagine I will hear the original someday soon, though.

I thought it was kinda of relaxing at the South Bend ballpark show - a completely different vibe than a theater/club show. Saw Dylan/Mellencamp/Nelson at a ballpark down near St. Louis - thought that was fun, too.
-
It was kinda of an impulse buy on my part - they seem to play around the Chicago area, quite a bit. Somewhat recently, Hidalgo mentioned to a press member that he was in the studio with Dylan, again.
-
That's good to see - the South Bend show was the same. It will be my daughter's first show.

I just bought Just Another Band from East L.A. from a Half Price books yesterday --- of course when I brought it home to play it, the discs were not in the package, so I will heading back there this afternoon. This is my first purchase from these guys, my brother has quite a bit of their catalog, though - still haven't gotten around to see them perform, yet.

Should I vote for Santorum in the WI primary

Not a big fan of voting for someone who you don't support. I don't think it matters much, anyway - the race will continue. -
Glad you were able to record - thanks.

Got it - thanks. I forgot about that site - probably would have bought the flacs, too, definitely would have been cheaper.
-
Where did buy the flacs from - I only saw the cd option?

Just ordered the show with Nels and the last night of the run, where Greg sat out on. Looking forward to listening to them - my neighbor and I did purchase the show that we attended a few years ago, here in Chicago, and it sounded pretty good (sound quality wise) - it's the first time that I ordered a show that I did not attend, though. My neighbor is going in halves with me - don't tell Butch. I also joined the Hittin the Web forum because there is vine going that includes the complete 96 Riveria shows - I had a few of these on tape, but they have been misplaced through the years ---- hav

Shelley is a great drummer - I talked to him for a bit before an outdoor show in St. Louis, very personable, nice guy. Definitely going to get this release.
-
Looks like it's a good one - great, great line-up. Below is the DMG writeup. Looks like Nels plays lead throughout.

I thought there was Small Faces thread here, but I couldn't fine it - perhaps they were discussed in the Hall of Fame thread. There is also a great Fairport Convention clip from the same show in the sidebar. I found the below clip another board Bouton Rouge Sessions - The Small Faces with P.P. Arnold http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uG0Zqo5zrg

Heard Glad It's Over on the radio yesterday on the way home from work - haven't heard it in quite a while - an okay tune.

I missed the National/Weir event. I am sure they will replay it again.

Bobby Womack - "Please Forgive My Heart"
calvino replied to auctioneer69's topic in Someone Else's Song
http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/sns-rt-us-bobbywomack-cancerbre82p0ne-20120326,0,3446896.story Womack is battling cancer. I know of him only through his involvement with the Stones. I have a great Dirty Work studio session boot that Womack and Jagger sings on. Hopefully all goes well. -
Below is one of them - not sure if others were released. I never did get this release - 71 is one of my favorite Dead years.
