I don't think I have ever seen the "fast-pass" thing at any Chicago venue - though it has to be over 10 years since I saw a show at the House of Blues - dumb policy.
-
It's a good one - don't remember why I missed the show - the recording is great.
-
Yeah and into the AL Central - more great news for the White Sox this offseason.........

More trivia: name that album cover

That's my guess, too. -

Yes I did - it appeared that someone gave him a pair a shorts, eventually. I can't imagine all the "weird" stuff they saw from the stage through the years. I would think it would be a bit weird to have a naked dude standing over your shoulder while you are playing, but I am kinda thinking it just another day at work for them, especially during that era. I wonder if there more footage of the performance - below is the link, that I watched. It's a little over an hour long. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6grV_WPWD-c

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/bill-kreutzmann-jerry-garcia-wasn-t-really-happy-during-grateful-deads-end-20120117 Nice interview with Bill Kreutzmann. Also, I finally watched the entire Sunshine Daydream dvd - watching them perform the Dark Star was great.

That's cool.

Only caught it once at the 7/8/11 Fish Creek, WI show. I don't think a recording of the show has ever surfaced, yet - which is a shame.
-
I do enjoy Tweedy's solo versions more so than with the full band - never was a huge fan of the song.

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band

Yeah - plus it is a title of a Neil Young song. Not a big fan of the album cover, either. I haven't bought a new Springsteen album since Devils and Dust, perhaps I'll get this one. -

Kinda like the whole Reagen/Born in the USA era. The tune is okay. -

This line made me chuckle a bit, for some reason. I picture Twiki's voice going through his head while he wrote this. Tweedy probably made him throw it in. Nice letter, though - ran into him at a club a couple of times and he seemed like a genuine nice guy. -
That's what she said. (sorry had to say it) Regarding covering the song, I guess if you pick someone to do the cover with Helm and Staples would be the go to people.

Going to Chicago....what to do, see, stay, etc.
calvino replied to LouieB's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
As for caferteria syle goes, there is still Valois down here in Hyde Park. Amazingly, I have yet to eat at Manny's or Valois. Of course being a vegeraterian now, neither seem too appealing. I do cheat every St. Patrick and eat a little of my sister's corned beef - perhaps I should skip her's and head to Manny's, though I don't think I could handle a whole sandwich ---- does look good though. -
Not trying to make this into a Armisen thread, but below was an interview in today's Chicago Tribune (mostly about his time in Chicago). http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/ct-ent-0112-fred-armisen-chicago-20120111,0,5048552.story

I can get you a copy, if you don't do the torrant thing, Lou. It was funny hearing you name on the tape.
-
I would think that would be a cool band to shoot.

I guess Kool & the Gang are opening for them in Chicago - seems like an odd pair. Brandmeier (a Chicago radio broadcaster) is giving out free tickets on the radio now to callers who are calling from their car and have Van Halen blasting, - seems like it 1984-5 all over again (of course they wouldn't be calling from their cars in 84.)

Thanks, anthonyc007. A new bookmark.

Nice way to spend the day.

Watched Midnight in Paris last night - it's a good one, especially the cinematograhy. I thought the last scene with Wilson and his finance and her family was a bit lacking, though. I also wonder why Allen didn't bring up Ezra Pound - I would of thought he would have been an excellant character to write about.

In the footage that Wilco Me posted, Fred said he use to work for Sue Miller and is a friend of the family. I'm sure Miller booked Trenchmouth. Fred's bits in IATTBYH always cracked me up - I don't think I heard of him before seeing that doc. Yeah, what nalafej wrote.

I always thought your avatar was an extremely large jack rabbit. (your dog's mouth were the ears...)

From their website - hopefully all goes well with the treatment.
