  1. Yeah, according to WIlcobase. http://wilcobase.com/concert_calendar.php Cicero's 11/17/94 Minneapolis, MN 11/21/94
  2. Same here (about the Cure). This year's lineup is good overall, though. I am sure Stewart will play with the Faces, unless he has a gig planned already. Not a big fan of the Chili Peppers, but they should be entertaining. Dowd and Johns are very worthy editions, also. I don't remember the last time I watched any of these festivities - probably since they were aired on VH-1 or MTV.
  3. Strings/valves/drum heads break, too - so even when one is listening to it live, you get screwed. I think CD's are going to be around longer than 10 years, just a guess, though. Besides bootleg torrents, I don't do downloads. Though, I am finally upgrading my audio system to where I can attach a hard drive directly to it and also stream music and have it run through my house speaker set up - so I will see how that changes my opinion of downloads.
  4. Definitely one of em. (Dylan and Willie, being two more). Everyone has bad show once in awhile. That being said, I would have been a bit bummed if I sprang for a ticket.
  5. I did watch the Blue Sky performance, it was pretty painful to watch. I think Allman needs to take some more time off, get completely well, then head back out again.
  6. Wouldn't mind reading your thoughts of the ABB shows. Below is VC's ABB thread. I read mixed reviews of Greg's performance. http://viachicago.org/topic/39053-the-allman-brothers-band/page__hl__allman__st__200
  7. Definitely looks like a nice set - nice to Standing O back in there.
  8. Some Instant replay has been implemented - definitely can change an outcome of a game/stats.
  9. I guess it's pretty cool to be in the same category with Jeff Beck (and Les Paul). http://www.grammy.com/nominees
  10. I haven't heard Rich's album, either. He may be a lucky guy, I guess, but I think he is a decent songwriter and brought a lot to the Black Crowes' table. I guess I always enjoyed Rich's role in the Crowes, more so than Chris's, who I found to be a bit annoying at times. I always enjoyed Richards over Jagger, too. I guess I am saying lead singers annoy me. Listening to Warpaint, now - haven't listened to it in a while - holds up nicely.
  11. A-Man have you listened to any of the RIch shows? I have seen some pop up, but haven't listened to any.
  12. After convincing my wife to have colored (instead of all white) lights on the fake tree last year, I finally convince my wife to get a real tree. It has been a 20 year or so tradition for my parents to take their grand-kids to cut down their tree (from a tree farm) - they usually let the grand-kids pick the tree, sometimes with pretty dreadful results, but of course to my mom and dad they always look spectacular. Hopefully they will not let my two year old pick out the tree this year - leave it for the twenty-two year old to pick. Anyway we are going to just a small "Charlie Brown" tree th
  13. That's a bit of a bummer - for the most part it was an amusing read.
  14. In the US, only MP3's are available, which is a bit of a shame - probably the reason, I haven't gotten around to buy it, yet. Though the price of $5 is pretty decent.
  15. I haven't gotten around to download the Brussels set, yet. Definitely looking forward to it. I didn't think Richards was too tough on Jagger or at least any tougher than he has in the past.
  16. I saw the 78 Texas show in the theaters last month - great, great show. I think I liked it better than Ladies and Gentleman. Having Wyman back in the fold would be great, but I don't think it's gonna happen, but who knows.
  17. http://www.stonesarchivestore.com/Product.aspx?cp=53655&pc=BGDDRS67 Perhaps the Stones think the CD is dying off, too. I prefer a physical format, but with bootlegs like The Brussels Affair which is so widely available, I could see why they would go with the downloads. No point of putting money into packaging. There is a video of Keith and Mick talking about the show - didn't realize Keith's completely gray, now - it's a good look.
  18. http://www.pitchfork.com/news/44639-watch-sonic-youths-final-show/?utm_campaign=search&utm_medium=site&utm_source=search-ac I am in the "they will continue as a band" camp.
  19. I had to borrow my mom and dad's car yesterday and when I turned the car on, the radio was on 93.9 Lite FM - Chicago's All Christmas Music Station (at least during this time of year). Gotta love my mom......luckily (in this instance) my dad is pretty much deaf.
  20. Wow, that would be a nice night of music. Tapes are up on Dime - I haven't listened to them, though. Hopefully Smith will put out a DVD of sorts.
