Not a big fan of limited editions. I did receive the Almanac via email yesterday - it looked prett cool. Still kinda like the paper format through the mai, though.

Do you want to talk about.....I didn't think so!!

Bromberg showed up and played a surprise short opening set before a Dylan show and sat in on two in 1997 at the Metro. At the time I did not know much about him. It was cool to see, lots a people around me were very excited. One of the few shows I was at that a rumor was floating around on the floor about a surprise guest. When a roadie brought out a mic stand and Dylan's band came out without Dylan, the crowd started to go a little nuts and out came Bromberg. Must admit, I still haven't gotten around to purchase any of Bromberg's stuff. -

Sundown is one of the earliest songs I remember growing up. -
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/23/arts/music/tom-waitss-new-album-bad-as-me.html?pagewanted=1&ref=arts Nice piece in the New York Times. I didn't realize Richards was on this album, too. I like the horn on Get Lost.

Good read - I thought I heard about the Bragg thing before, too, but like Beltmann I don't recall where. McGurk's

Hamilton did look pretty bad last night at the plate - great game to watch last night, though.
-
Finally watched it - great stuff. Production was incredible and I love looking at the close-ups of all the guitars.
-
I like that one.

bbop - when you mentioned Lincoln Hall "server", I thought you were talking about their waitresses/waiters and I thought "well that's an odd complaint" - haven't finished my first cup of coffee, yet... Definitely gonna a tough ticket. Lincoln Hall is a great venue, it would be great to see Wilco there.

Did the record company or the band pick it for a single? I am sure the band had some say, I'd imagine, either way. I like the song, especially the live versions when Bennett was still in the band.

I have been going through the Zeppelin collection in order of release this week - (listening to this one out of sequence, though - after House of Holy.) np

I can see that happening - The 2.12.05 show is up on the Owl site. I guess one can download it an listen to it. http://wilcoarchive.com/wilco%2020050212/

When I got in my car this morning and turned the car on, Capitol City was playing on my radio (XM, Outlaw Country station) - nice way to start the day. Good tune.

The 11/24/99 show at the Riv. was my 2nd Wilco show.
-
I was fortunate to get the Riv. and Vic shows, so I can't get too upset over it, I guess.

Same thing happen to me. Every time I tried to put the last letter in the key stroke wouldn't work. Refreshed a few times and it kept happening. Oh well.

No luck, today.

I think some managers have more impact than others. I am not a big fan of trading players for managers, either. That being said I am glad the Sox received some for Guillen. I'm pretty sure Zambrano is going to end up down there, too. However, I am not sure of the stipulations of Cubs/Zambrano's contract.

I guess that make sense, for some reason I figured they all appeared one day on the Archive. I suspect the Archive grew over time... Plus, I was wrong about the 7/18/76 being released - 6/18/76 was released as a download.
-
I guess the Dead released the July 18, 1976 show via the Download series they did a while ago. I have this show on my hard drive, but no linage folder. I am guessing my copy is from the download series. It is a good one. I have only 9 shows from 76, definitely an under represented year in my collection. Also, I am bit curious how you got involved in the Compendium books and the Archive...if you don't mind. I never bothered to find out the origins of how all the data/tapes ended up at Archive.org, it is an amazing achievement getting all those sources into one place.

I think you work for the newspaper down there, right? If that is the case, you should be extremely happy is heading to Miami. For better or worse, he is going to fill up the sporting page. Of course, I think you were not thrilled about the deal, not necessarily about the hiring of Guillen.

The above is a great read. I have not gone through it in a while (I don't own it, just check it my from library), but I think the advice is in that book, too.

That's what I was thinking, too.
