http://dozin.com/jer...tar/history.htm The above is a link about Jerry's guitar through the years. The 72 set has a great essay on the Nash guitar.

I think Ladies & Gentlemen is my go to collection.

I have tuning issues with my Les Paul (just a Studio) - perhaps it's a Gibson thing in general. I would love to play the SG. I am sure one of the stores in Chicago will get one in. I haven't been to a music store in quite a while, actually the last one was Rock N Roll Vintage Inc. up on the northside (in Chicago.) I think they filmed some of IATTBYH there. Beautiful store.

What does your upcoming concert schedule look like?

Sadly, only a Justin Roberts' show at the Old Town of Folk Music, next month --- parenthood...you gotta love it. He does put on a fun show, though. -
That was the 1989 run. I never did get that box-set release.

Going to Chicago....what to do, see, stay, etc.
calvino replied to LouieB's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
People may want to avoid the city during the weekend of May 19-20, 2012 - the G8 Summit will be held here. It should be interesting, though. -
I thought the Bird Song and Days Between were pretty good in the TRI set. Chimenti plays some really piano on Days Between - the song does lag towards the end of it, though. I made it to the Terrapin Station Reunion, too - fun weekend.

http://viachicago.org/topic/45872-jeff-tweedy-signature-sg/ There is a thread in the Solid State forum - great looking guitar.

I agree about Kimock being too low in the mix. I forgot how goofy Kenny Brooks is while he is on stage - his expressions always crack me up. Weir sounded good, too.
-
Yeah - that was the event that I was alluding to. It was fun: some drinks, a smoke, and let machines roll. I always used Maxell.
-
Steve Kimock and Mark Karen were on guitars. Sorry, I should have posted a link last night.

A taper friend of mine taped the 92 Compton shows, it was great to hear it when he came back to Chicago. I kind of miss those of days of waiting to hear a show, it was always a bit of an event. I been watching the Ratdog TRI show - the second set is pretty damn good.

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/10791880-452/ozzie-guillen-vows-not-to-let-carlos-zambrano-get-out-of-control.html It's a going to be a very boring (and probably sucky) summer in Chicago. I am wishing the Marlins my best.

I was at Brent's last show. I watched a DVD boot of it last month or so, it was a pretty uninspired show. The venue is horrible and they had issues with the town and venue, so I am assuming the band just wanted get the show done and over. They never did play the venue again (The World Music Theatre, now called something else...) I did have fun at the show - I started on the lawn and dance my way up towards the stage as the show progressed. I was 16 at the time and the kid I went worth got bored and headed back to the car during the set break. It was fun just hanging around various people in

Perhaps they didn't include the Crimson release, because it was released as a DVD/CD combo package. I wasn't a huge fan of the Crimson release.

There was a segment on Frampton on CBS This Morning yesterday. I never knew that he lost his Les Paul, due to a plane crash. The story of him getting his guitar back, somewhat recently, is pretty cool. I, like millions of others, had a copy of Frampton Comes Alive! on 8-Track. I haven't listened to it since I had a 8-Track player.

Just listened to Grand Prix again last night - I think Verisimilitude is my favorite Teenage Fanclub song. Also just read an Sharon Van Etten interview in the Chicago Reader - good read, never heard any of her stuff before. Wouldn't mind hearing her stuff with Mike Reed. http://www.chicagoreader.com/chicago/sharon-van-etten-interview-with-chris-salveter/Content?oid=5634603

That Buffalo DVD is probably my favorite later period DVD release. The Deal is a great one, as well as the Morning Dew. Below is info on DVD box set - The only ones I don't have is the So Far release - hopefully they release that one separately. I guess $99 is not a bad price, if you don't have any of these. The five songs from the archive, that is mentioned, is the songs from the Calibration show from August 30 1970. I had the show on my hard drive for a while and finally watched it a couple of days ago - a bit sloppy, but it was cool to see the old footage. http://www.youtube.com/watch

How was the Phil show, Moss?

Below is the source that I have on my hard drive - it looks like it culled from a combination of sources, including the the one you posted. http://bt.etree.org/...s.php?id=534039 Love Weir's version of Let Me In.

Like the above? I have a similer one on my office desk.

Haven't listened to that 6/24/70 show in awhile - sounds like a plan for later this morning. I finally invested in a stereo system, where I can plug in my hard drive directly into my CD/DVD player, it makes listening to boots a lot easier. I never perfered listening to shows on the laptop, so I always burn cds and play on my stereo system. All the burning gets a bit old... Also TRI will be rebroadcasting the Ratdog show - Lammycat, I did catch some of the Outlaw performance last month, too. I am not familar with them at all - it was good. I finally subscribed to a TRI email list, hopefully

I haven't seen the Door County Auditorium show pop up, yet. Could be wrong, though (I hope I am wrong).

New Neil Young album - with Crazy Horse!

I just listened to Sleeps with Angels yesterday, I agree it's great, one of my favorites of his. Driveby and Trans Am are two of my favorite tracks off the record. -
I haven't listened to Amused to Death in ages, I don't think I ever bought it. Radio KAOS is even okay, in my book, though I think Pros and Cons is better. I finally watched a bootleg DVD of Water's Wall perform - the Chicago show that was shot with multiple camerars - it was very entertaining. Still don't think I would spring for a ticket, but it definetly was good. Roger's voice, though never really great, has gotten a bit worse, but it still sounded okay. The band he is playing is steller.
