my brother and i got the new Samsung HD/Blu Ray player that was released just before the holidays for my dad for christmas--rumor has it that only one machine was sent to each best buy as a "display" machine..my brother snatched his out of a cart at a best buy in DC and lugged it home because i couldnt find it anywhere around here. i will tell you though, its freaking amazing. we've played both HD and Blu Ray discs on it, and honestly im not really savvy enough about this stuff to be able to tell you the difference...but where you see it is in the newer movies that have actually been FILMED di

as much as i hate dave matthews band, they have a really great system to prevent scalping (my brother's been a fan for a long time, he was explaining their method to me after we both got shut out of the wilco presale ) through their fanclub type thing, they basically have a two week open ordering period where it doesnt matter WHEN you sign up..you enter all your billing stuff then, and then they do a lottery. that aside, they also police scalping of fan club tickets by keeping track of what fan member got what seats...if my brother, say, got 2nd row seats in the lottery, then tried to sell th

saw his show in LA at the troubadour...best show ive been to in a long time! i'd been wanting to see him for the past few years and somehow could never make it. i had this misconception of him as a shy, quiet guy--NOT the case at all. he was so energetic and fun and amazing! i loved it. he met all his fans at the merch table after as well. great guy, so adorable. also, i had no idea who was opening...i laughed for like 3 days straight at the fact that i heard closing time by the original lead singer of semisonic. i dont know why, it was just such a ridiculous coincidence to me. but it was all

aww, thank you guys!! i had a wonderful day filled with sleeping through class and dinner in the city with my dad and erin (attack with love)! she's staying with me for the weekend, were gonna see a free acoustic set on campus from sigur ros and then a free screening of their new movie tonight which is a very awesome birthday bonus. i think mike might join us for that (he aint around here much anymore, but hes kaysettes for those of you who remember him!) so its going to be a wonderful bday weekend thanks again for all the birthday wishes, hope to see ALL of you very very soon!
