  1. Very nice gesture by Geddy Lee. I was a Rush Head in the late 70's/early 80's - saw them several times in that time period but lost touch with them after Signals was released. Moving Pictures is on my IPod and still sounds pretty damn cool.
  2. They're one of a handful of bands who, after a very long hiatus, reunited and their records were still just as good as the earlier stuff.
  3. Back in '86 or '87 (I forget exactly but it was before the days of bottled water), I left a Grateful Dead/Bob Dylan/Tom Petty show at RFK stadium in D.C. I don't know the exact temperature that day but it was ridiculously hot - in the 90's. It started in the afternoon when the sun was the hottest. Anyway, I left about 30 minutes after the Dead hit the stage.
  4. My kids really enjoyed Farmer Jason, it's Jason Ringenberg from Jason & The Scorchers. http://www.farmerjason.com/ He was great live too, he even played a couple of Scorchers tunes.
  5. Last night the doors opened at 6:00 or thereabouts. The line was all the way around the corner when the doors opened. I was planning on waiting in line but the long johns were at home in my closet. We went in at 7:00 and ended up at the very back on the main floor. Not too bad but if you want to get closer I would venture in earlier than we did.
  6. This thread makes me miss the Ramones so much. I grew up outside Boston and they used to play Boston/Providence pretty much twice a year, every year. Great shows and the coolest, most loyal, fans on the planet.
  7. Seen your video The phoney rock and roll We don't want to know
  8. R.E.M.: 1982? Greensboro, NC, a little rat hole bar called Friday's Opening act was UV Prom. Del Fuegos: 1985. Greensboro, NC, The Rhinoceros Club. Bear with me on this one. 50 people max. In walks Bruce Springsteen and Nils Lofgren who were playing in town the following two nights. They mingle with the crowd the whole night. Retire to the dressing room for 10 minutes with the Fuegos, hop on stage with them, and play Hang On Sloopy and Stand By Me with Bruce on lead vocals. Elton John: July 4th, 1976, Foxboro Stadium, Foxboro, MA America's 200th birthday. My first real concert. E

  11. Tuff Darts - "Your Love Is Like Nuclear Waste"
  12. I bought my copy at an indie store, not because Jeff told me to, I just like the smell of incense while I'm browsing.
  13. I hope to catch them next time they play Chicago. When I listen to "Sparkle In The Finish" my legs can't stop moving.....and I don't even like to dance!
  14. I really like The Ike Reilly Assassination. I've never seem them live but their record "Sparkle In The Finish" is fabulous. http://www.ikereilly.com/index.htm
