  1. Ha -- I thought the same thing. I am a far bigger GNM fan than WTWTA. How's Good night nothing for a treatise on Mu?

    UIC Night 2

As one of "those people" who does wait in line for hours (mainly because of the place I get, but also because it's fun), I can tell you it is annoying to have someone who basically shows up at the last minute (as you did) to get in front of me because he/she perceives that there is space there, and therefore have the right to fill it. I think most people who wait in line to assure a good place feel the same way. I am also borderline claustrophobic and having people too close is a problem for me. Not enough of one to prevent me from dealing with GA, but enough of one to try to reserve some br
  3. Bummed I missed the show -- didn't want to get others around me as sick as I am today Will just have to see them in Madison or something. And hopefully a source will appear so I can enjoy it vicariously....
  4. Glad the ticket was well used!! I'm going tonight but can't get in line until maybe 4, depending on traffic on the Ike. Hopefully I'll still get a decent standing spot!
  5. I saw the trailer a few weeks ago and was largely unimpressed. I think we will not see this one in the theatre anyway. In other cinema news, Jake saw The Great Escape with my mother on PBS a couple of weeks ago. He loved it and asked her all kinds of questions about WWII -- really good ones (she reported to me later). That's what good movies will do.
  6. That's uncalled for, in my opinion. Also, most of the rest of the songs on the record support his point.
  7. I believe it was yesterday. And you got a Wilco concert for it!!
  8. That sounds pretty personal. Maybe he keeps them in piles are so they can be spindled more easily.

  10. Considering that most people that are in the market for such a vehicle (ultra luxury sporty cars, as classified by Automotive News) aren't that concerned about payment plans. Don't get me wrong; I can buy stuff outright and choose no interest when I can to make my money work for me, but I am not sure that the $$ that they make on not paying the interest is enough to make someone say, "gee, I'll buy this instead of a Ferrari". Financing like this is designed to get conquest purchasers. This type of vehicle is an emotional purchase, not a practical one.
  11. I believe both arsed and bloody are kind of low class in the UK. And I for one LOVE seeing the queen's English here on the Internets. I can almost hear the accents when I read the words
  12. This. And Bambi is not a children's movie.
  13. Turns out I can go on 10-19. Prefer GA. Please PM me. Thanks in advance! EDIT: I believe I'm taken care of. Thanks all
  14. But it is starting a sentence.

  18. Don't people who take photos at shows want a good picture of it? I do. I guess I don't care who takes it!
  19. I have found that when I use my camera at shows I end up missing something either visually or music-wise that I would have been able to experience if I hadn't been taking pics. Worse, my pics generally turn out poorly. It's likely a combination of my meh camera and my meh skills. Therefore, I no longer waste my effort. Also, I have seen that most casual photographers do not take good quality pics, nor do they have good angles or capture "interesting" moments very well -- so I rarely even look at links posted here as it isn't worth my time. The band's web site however, is a great source of grea
  20. Certainly there is a certain amount of patient self-selection as a factor. But it really surprised me that in one location, all else equal, kids were 4x as likely to have had their tonsils out than those that lived mere miles away. It does seem like making money as a driver for patient care is the dirty little secret that no one wants to talk about. I am not just talking about physicians of course. I was also surprised to hear that more does not necessarily = better. I think that the concept of "more = better" for anything really is so ingrained into the American DNA that hearing that it isn
