It's become expected now, so bands go through this charade of leaving the stage when they know they have more songs to do. It's kind of silly, especially the bands that go off stage for 30 seconds and come back. At least grab a beer/smoke/Diet Coke or something. I saw James Brown in college with a pretty apathetic white audience. After the set, his promoter/handler/enroutage guy came out and tried to lead a "James Brown" chant to get him to come back and do an encore. The response was weak that JB never came back out. And then everyone booed him.

The other songs are really good. Despite a minimal appearance from JT, I tink this album is much stronger than the past ones.

I tend to think it was planned more or less that way. I suppose it's possible that it happened spontaneously in the recording studio and the band went on to perform it that way, false endings and all. But it doesn't seem likely to me. I think the lyrics clearly reflect Jeff's doubts about his role as song writer and family man...

I dont understand the issue - the chords are all defined in the first post. I do one of these super-basic hammer on things over the G chord as well, but mostly it's just strumming D------0 A-0h2--

I've always had pretty good luck with street parking. But keep in mind I used to live in the Haight-Asbury, and I consider only looking for 10-15 minutes pretty good luck. If you dont have that kind of patience, there's a paid lot underneath the AMC Kubuki movie theater at Geary and Fillmore. If you like Japanese food, there are many great options in the neighborhood (I think I usually ate at home so I'd have more money for beer ) It's GA, so go early if you want to get up front. THe Dano tremolo is surprisingly nice sounding, though like all the mini series they aren't exactly built like a tank
