I usually play it like e-------- B---1---- G---1---- D---2---- A---0---- E---4---- making it an Am(maj7) (or whatever the proper term is) I often dont play the low E strings too if I'm feeling lazy probably 6 one way a half dozen the other - as long as that G# note gets in there, it all sort of sounds the same in a band situation.
