  1. Interestingly, on Bandcamp, the song is credited as "Written and performed by Wilco". When's the last time the whole band got an equal writing credit?? If this is a sign of the next Wilco record I hope it's a sign that it's more collaborative in songwriting.
  2. I'm pretty sure it'll be Tell Your Friends. On the Tweedy Show a few nights ago they talked about the video for the song and inferred it was going to be played on Colbert. Still that doesn't mean a new album isn't happening. Believe!
  3. "Tell Your Friends" previously heard on The Tweedy Show. This song is great! Love the vocal harmonies. Ode to Joy style drumming sounds nice with the acoustic slide guitar.
  4. Jeff has stated on The Tweedy show that the Wilco guys were collaborating on something from their individual homes during quarantine. Also, a few months ago there was some Instagram stories where some of the guys were all at the Loft at the same time (Mikael, Nels, and I believe Glenn). So it's possible work was getting done before lockdown. And... I feel like I read a comment pre-OTJ from Jeff about how there were already plans for the follow up but I've tried to dig that up and couldn't find it, so it's entirely possible I just imagined that. Essentially this is me:
  5. Instagram TV doesn't broadcast to television, it's the branding they use for their published videos which is how the show yesterday got saved. You can view it on a web-browser and it's an all around better experience than the 24 hour saves on IG Stories.
  6. Time for my favourite variety of speculating... New album incoming?!?!
  7. While I'm sad I missed tonight's show live, I must say... Instagram TV is SO much better. First, no comments taking up the screen. You can actually pause and skip to specific times. AND you can watch it on a browser. It also looked much cleaner.
  8. Homegrown (unreleased 1974 record, originally shelved for Tonight's The Night, the alleged fourth part of the fabled Ditch Trilogy) is coming out on June 19th. There's a preview song "Try" on Neil Young Archives today and tomorrow only, I'd recommend checking it out, it's pretty good.
  9. When I was compiling my list of new songs, I actually scrolled all the way back (oh god does that Facebook group get a lot of reposts!!) and found the video. I screen recorded it, I don't want to post it online but I can share it, just shoot me a message on Facebook.
  10. I haven't watched the streaming version but the DVD came with a bonus disc with an entire film worth of outtakes, which might have been what you're remembering.
  11. Weird that some shows got outright cancelled (Calgary, Missoula) but other shows are attempting to rebook. At this point, barring some miracle, I can't see any shows happening in 2020, so if you're going to wait for some shows to rebook, why not wait for everything? Sucks for Calgary especially, Wilco hasn't played there in a long time.
  12. http://youtu.be/2QPBpFAKTGo Bob's back, new album Rough and Rowdy Ways, June 19th.
  13. Yeah however they encoded the video file was fucked up, all that motion blur makes it hard to watch.
  14. I think the song they were discussing Sammy singing at the end was Razor Love from Neil Young's Silver & Gold, or did I just misunderstand the conversation? (totally possible)
  15. By going through the spreadsheet and u2roolz's notes, I've attempted to compile a list of new songs Jeff has performed: “Save It For Me” (Episode 1 [recording], 13, 15) “I’d Rather Be Alone” (Episode 2) A Robin Or A Wren (Episode 3, Episode 39) Grandma’s A Cyborg Now [Poem] (Episode 4) “Baby You’re So Miserable” (Episode 5) Guess Again (Episode 6, Episode 37) “Natural Disaster” (Episode 10) “Tell Your Friends” (Episode 29) Half Life [Ode To Joy outtake] (Episode 30) I left in Half Life, while it's not a new song for Jeff, it is new to us. If I missed anything or if any of the song titles
  16. I didn't see this thread yesterday! Sloan put up a great live set on Bandcamp, still worth getting IMO.
  17. How great was The Long Cut?? One of my favourite Tupelo songs. According to Wilco World that was only the second time Jeff has played it since the year 2000 (though I suspect he's played it at some Living Room Shows at some point).
  18. Quality in both sound and picture definitely took a dive after the call. For the most part it was fine during talking but as soon as music started things decreased. Going to wifi helped a bit but not much. Quality is always worse when a guest is called in but tonight it never seemed to go back to normal. If whatever was causing the issue was in Instagram I do think that restarting the feed would have helped. I guess maybe Susie was worried about losing viewers but most people would come back, I'm sure. I believe she screen records directly on the phone so the YouTube video tomorrow should be g
  19. Nice to see Via Chicago getting mentioned on the show tonight!
  20. I know after last night's show a lot of people are claiming I don't know the lyrics to Sunken Treasure because I typed in chat "I was saved by rock and roll" during the last verse instead of maimed/tamed/got my name. This theory that I would make such an egregious mistake is obviously not true. Of course I know the lyrics. I was just riffing and doing my own thing, I can't help it if musical improvisation comes naturally to me. I'll have no further comment on this matter at this time, thank you.
  21. I liked Jeff's idea about doing the Vic shows online. Streaming over Instagram would be fine, they could restart the stream at the end of the first hour. Streaming on YouTube or Twitch would be even better. No time limit and it would be easier for most folks to watch on TV and they can set it up so people can donate direct from the stream on a web browser.
  22. Looks like it was an issue on IG's end. It's on YouTube now: http://youtu.be/RUkxDIZeeDw
  23. Great recap as usual u2roolz. Also interesting that Ode to Joy was almost named Half Life but Sammy fought against it. If I had to guess it was because of the legendary video game series. Jeff and Susie's discussion about Paul reminded me of the old question about a tree falling in the woods with no one around to hear it, if a Wilco show happened without Paul there... did it really happen?
  24. Deep cuts tonight! Shakin' Sugar is especially interesting, when did Jeff play that last? It always felt to me like the Jay heavy songs (Shakin Sugar, My Darling, Venus Stopped The Train) went with Jay when he left or at least like Jeff avoids playing them.
  25. I disagree. If these are two previews of an upcoming Dylan album, I would be very excited for it.
