  1. What accusations?? Where was I rude? All I did was ask questions and lay out the timeline. I don't know anything about your films or how you run your business. As a backer, someone who helped pay for your movie, I'd expect more regular updates, especially when the original estimated release date comes and goes. I shouldn't have to resort to getting in an online argument with the director to find out it's "next in line".
  2. "If I bother to read it??" Is this how you talk to your backers?? That's awfully rude. Let's break this down. I've worked in media my entire adult life, I'm well aware how much a documentary film costs to make. (Especially in 2020 with the high quality affordable DSLR cameras + LED lights and easy access to Adobe Premiere / After Effects.) So I don't know what you're trying to prove? My point when referencing the similar line in your second Kickstarter is you haven't explained how the project will scale if you don't meet your funding. Currently, the new Kickstarter is at $3160 CAD of a $996
  3. I hate to do a repeat of the Wilcopedia topic, but.... I backed the initial Kickstarter, coming on three years ago now, and I have to be honest, I've been pretty disappointed with the lack of updates. Especially since some of the few updates we have received have been promoting the filmmaker's other movies. For instance, in March 2018 he posted two updates, one saying they found new interviews of Jay and the other promoting a Kickstarter for an unrelated move. Then eight months later, we were told they were in the process of shooting a few more interviews and cutting the film. No updates to Ki
  4. Had a flight yesterday and watched Joker. A shit film for wankers. It's basically incel the movie. We get it, society is mean to this guy. I understood that after 20 minutes, and then the film reiterated this over and over for the next 2 hours. Also, it's another Hollywood film that helps stigmatize mental illness. Great job, WB.
  5. The fact that David Berman wasn't honoured in the In Memoriam tells you everything you need to know about the Grammys.

    2020 Touring

I think there was a comment in an interview from Jeff alluding to the album after Ode to Joy, this was months before OTJ came out. But mostly I was just going off how prolific Jeff has been recently.

    2020 Touring

I'm almost certainly in for the Minnesota show. It's nice that it's on a Saturday, I can drive there on the day of and go home the next day. I suppose this likely means we won't be getting another Winter-prelude in Saint Paul this year? Was kind of hoping there would be one if we got another fall Wilco album.
  8. Dual citizen, still a Canadian. And I swear, if you guys start putting him on your list of best US songwriters, I'm going to FLIP OUT!
  9. Great pictures Tim! What did the rest of Jeff's shirt say?
  10. I found mp3s of War on War, Heavy Metal Drummer, and Hummingbird. I can't remember why. I do remember that Wilco was one of those bands I read a lot about in 2003-2004, when I was getting into other "indie" music like Pavement, Elliott Smith, The Postal Service, etc. War on War was definitely the first song that clicked with me, I liked the acoustic rhythm guitars, that was a sound I was looking for but had trouble finding previously. These days that sort of thing isn't that special but fortunately there was a lot more I found interesting about Wilco's sound.
  11. Doooo it! Jeff has played the banjo in the past first with Uncle Tupelo and IIRC Loose Fur as well, so it could have some dueling banjo action.
  12. Aw man, talk about having some FOMO, that setlist is great! The crowd looked pretty small from what photos I could find on social media. And of course I love CB and that 75 minute set is longer than what we got at Solid Sound, IIRC. Interesting point of the minimal Wilco regulars. It's cool to see a few VCers in attendance but I can count on one hand the number of fans I personally know there, which was not the case for the Saint Paul shows or the Winterlude shows. Unfortunately the exchange rate was just not favourable for such an investment for this Canuck. I did try to talk Mrs. TCP into it
  13. I finished season 3 of The Crown. What a way to tell the story of the 20th century. There was a lot of things I wasn't aware of either, like the disaster in Wales. Even as a socialist, anti-monarchist Canadian, I have to admit I find Queen Liz a compelling character. I agree with this BUT... I also liked having standalone problem-of-the-week episodes. TV is so serialized these days it was refreshing having a few episodic episodes, even if elements from those episodes did come together in the last few episodes. Nice!! Check out this video if you want some of the slang applied. Some of t

    Wilcopedia

Maybe? I mean, an encyclopedias typically don't give opinions. Maybe someone who has it can comment.

    Wilcopedia

I'm sorry, I was stressed at work and came across more defensive than I should have! Fair enough. Someone should start a Wilco wiki. .....Not me though!
  16. TCP

    Wilcopedia

That's my point, if there is a demand for this information, a Wilco wiki would be a better format for this and one of the reasons for that is because it wouldn't have to come from one person's labour. I don't know why I'm getting push back on this, I have said hundreds of more controversial things on these message boards.

    Wilcopedia

Nah. Encyclopedic information like this should absolutely be free in 2020. A biography where the author conducted interviews like Learning How To Die, sure. But, correct me if I'm wrong, but a book like this is just sourced from already available information.

    Wilcopedia

I know the author is around various online Wilco communities and sounds like a good guy. But... For the life of me I can't understand why this isn't a wiki. There's no advantage of having this sort of thing in book form in this day and age. A fandom wiki can be updated with new developments. It's open and accessible for everyone. Errors and mistakes can be corrected. A book is (likely) already outdated with the release of Ode to Joy. Information like this should not cost money.
  19. The final Hip concert was an event. I remember our main plaza downtown was showing the CBC television broadcast on a projector and got a pretty decent turnout. I was at the fair with my wife but tuned in via CBC radio on the drive home, pulled in the driveway, and turned on the TV and caught the rest of the show there. Outside of hockey games I can't think of an event that got that sort of coverage before. I go back and forth on JT. I've spent most of my adult life under a conservative government, so JT was a breath of fresh air when he got elected. He definitely says the right thing but
  20. Glad you guys agree with me about Echo. I assumed it was going to be good since the Rotten Tomatoes was so high. And Winston, you're definitely right about Jacob just nodding along. Early in my career, before I was a middle management sellout, I interviewed people on TV, often about things I didn't care about (community events, local sports, that sort of thing), and learning to fake enthusiasm for that stuff is a skill in its own but clearly no one on set pulled Jacob aside and talked to him about it. There's ways to do it while still being yourself but nodding along with bored eyes isn't it.
  21. I've had two weeks off work. Which means lots of movies and TV. Late 2019 / Early 2020 films + television: Once Upon A Time In Hollywood: great! QT got me again with these historical films. Knives Out: great! The second best film of the year with Chris Evans in it. The Rise of Skywalker: pretty good! Echo in the Canyon: Everything felt fake and forced. Seriously, listen to the incredibly scripted conversations between Jacob Dylan, Beck, and Regina Spektor. The super phoney audience applause every time someone would sing their first part in a song. Never before has a documentary offered such li
